Welcome to the 2017-2018 FIRST Tech Challenge season!  We're thrilled to be involved with the manufacturing and distribution of the official field element sets for a fourth season, and now we can quit making jokes that FIRST RELIC RECOVERY is a water game! (We'll just tell those jokes to the FRC kids, don't worry.)

Now that you've seen the game, we've got a few more resources to share with you.
Official FIRST RELIC RECOVERY Field Assembly Instructions & Videos

We know that the only fields out in the wild right now are in the hands of Affiliate Partners; we have truckloads (plural!) of teams' fields in our warehouse ready to start getting picked up by FedEx on Monday.

We think these field assembly instructions and videos will be useful for getting a close look at each field element and ensuring you've got the necessary tools ready to dive in when your field arrives in the coming days!

Each quarter-field is its own box; if you preordered a full field, you'll be receiving four boxes.  Each box contains:
  • 1 Relic
  • 1 Cryptobox, red or blue
  • 1 Balancing Stone, red or blue
  • 1 Jewel Holder and Jewels--yes, they should look familiar!
  • 6 Gray Glyphs
  • 6 Brown Glyphs
  • 1 Mat, red or blue. (If you preordered a full field, you'll have two mats across the four boxes since the field only has two of them.)
If you were waiting on Kickoff to see the game before ordering, fear not: you can order them now!
Run the Jewels faster with NeveRest Orbital 20s

NeveRest Orbital 20 gearmotors are the newest addition to the competition-proven line of NeveRest gearmotors. The new planetary gearhead is much stronger than the NeveRest Classic 20, capable of taking all the abuse our interns could throw at it--even drivetrains with hundreds of pounds of weight.  With the lower 19.2:1 reduction compared the 40:1 most teams ran in the VELOCITY VORTEX season, we know teams running these motors will be much faster on the field!

The new planetary gearhead has a different hole pattern than NeveRest Classic gearmotors, so we introduced PicoBox LEO, MEO, and GEO to allow mounting for every application we could imagine.

New S3 Tubing frames your robot quickly!

S3 Tubing is made for Simple Super Structure.  It's our brand new system of 16mm tube and gussets that will let you package more into the tight confines of an FTC robot!

Each length of S3 tubing sports a common hole pattern, based on multiples of 16mm for compatibility with TileRunner and other building systems popular in FTC.  The fully-enclosed extrusion allows for greater strength than channels, and slots on two faces allow for adjustability with the safety factor that a loose bolt can't go more than 16mm out of alignment.

On the other two faces is a hole pattern with 8mm holes that pilot a Nub, 24T pulley, PicoBox gear, and more!  This versatile tube will make it very easy to assemble arm structures we expect to be very popular this season.

S3 Tubing is in stock and shipping now.  Check out the accessories too!
New NeveRest Sport Gearboxes - Perfect for mechanisms!

The new NeveRest Sport planetary gearboxes are going to shake up your FIRST RELIC RECOVERY build! These gearboxes, designed in collaboration with BaneBots, offer lots of features explicitly for FIRST Tech Challenge teams.

Each of the mounting holes on a NeveRest sport is 6-32, familiar hardware to FTC teams.  The top and bottom mounting holes are on a 16mm spacing to match TileRunner, S3 Tubing, and many other popular building systems.  The face mounts are on a 28mm bolt circle, same as our NeveRest Orbital gearmotors.  And the output shaft is a Nub, complete with tapped holes for optimum torque transmission.

NeveRest Sport gearboxes accept a NeveRest motor without the standard integrated gearbox, and they're available in ratios from 4:1 up to a beefy 256:1.  With proven internals derived from the P60 many teams used last year for ball shooters, it's sure to be a popular choice among teams for all kinds of manipulators.  NeveRest Sport gearboxes are in stock and shipping now!
