CT APEX held a government contracting Networking & Training event on March 19 in partnership with SouthEastern CT Enterprise Region (seCTer) and the CT Department of Veterans Affairs.

This event provided clients with a unique platform to engage directly with other small businesses in the government marketplace. One of the highlights of the event was the training focused on Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and Micro Purchase Threshold (MPT). These procedures are used by the government to streamline the acquisition process for purchases below certain dollar thresholds, and understanding them can give businesses a competitive edge in the government contracting arena.

Thank you Marisol and Team for putting the conference together. The presentation was full of great insights and quite useful."

"Today is March 21, 2024, and already HER, LLC is working with two contacts from the CT APEX Accelerator Government Contracting Networking & Training event on Tuesday, March 19. 2024.

The federal contracting business seems overwhelming at times. However, the more I attend sessions with CT APEX I feel more comfortable about moving forward in the federal process of obtaining contracts.

Thank you to all the CT APEX staff for your leadership, guidance, and resources."

- Vine M Samuels, MPH (CEO of Health Education, Resource Management & Training (HER), LLC)

"EcoThink Group's recent success in securing government contracts is a testament to the invaluable support provided by CT Apex counselors and their comprehensive training events. With their guidance and expertise, our company has not only attracted interest but also demonstrated a high level of confidence in delivering top-notch service. CT Apex are effective mentoring partners because they offer free of cost advice ranging from general governmental business set up and step by step certification guidance all the way to collaborating with us to create effective business development strategies. Their in person training events are so helpful because they invite government contracting experts who share tips and best practices. I do not know of any business consulting service that would provide so much support at no cost to us!"

- Marina Rosin (President of ECOthink Group)

"Dave Bertnag and I very much enjoyed the Government Contracting Networking and Training Event on Tuesday, March 19th. The speaker, Judy Bradt, was so good! We learned a great deal about Simplified Acquisitions and Micro Purchasing, which very well may turn out to be productive avenues for us. We also enjoyed meeting other small business people we may potentially work with in the future. We came away feeling energized and informed. Thanks for a great afternoon!"

- Cathy Torrisi (Sr. Grant Writer of Element 119 LLC)

"I thought the event was extremely insightful and informative. It was a good field learning opportunity for me. It was encouraging as well and Judy was so down to earth and helpful just like all the Apex staff I’ve come across so far. Thank you for the invite."

- Donnell Durden (CEO of Aligning LLC)

Aligning LLC Video Recap of Event

"Thanks to you, [Marisol], and your team (Andres and Jonathan) for inviting me to this event.

It was helpful to meet other small businesses and listen to their approaches.

I am grateful to Andres and Jonathan for introducing me to folks at the CT VA and hope that they will reach out, soon. They also connected me to Paul Whitescarver, who said he will reach out to the Groton sub base. I am grateful and hope it leads to concrete opportunities.

Your speaker was helpful; however, I realize that there was a broad range of businesses and stages of those businesses, presenting a challenge to provide useful information. The most helpful information that she provided was to reinforce the use of FY to conduct business development and the P Card explanation."

- Sharon Wood (CEO of Happy People Games Inc.)
