Welcome to the 2024 Climb for Kids Team

We can’t tell you enough how thankful we are for your commitment to climb mountains for kids. Your efforts on this journey will bring our local kids the COURAGE and HOPE to fight their biggest obstacles through the Durango Derailers Patient Assistance Fund. Your miles and fundraising efforts are incredibly impactful!

We wanted to provide you with some information as we wrap up 2023 and head into the new year. You'll find this email packed with information, so continue reading for recruiting info, fundraising instructions, Zwift team ride information, a family introduction, and a library of resources.

Join the 2024 Climb for Kids Team in the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic

We are in the process of building our 2024 Iron Horse Bicycle Classic team roster and we'd love your help filling more spots. If any of your family and friends have ever considered riding in any of the Iron Horse Cycling events, we would love to provide them with free registration to join our team. We have a great team of riders (from newbies to very experienced riders) to encourage and motivate each other as we enter 2024!

Fundraising Instructions

Donations are easy from both a computer or mobile phone!

  1. Visit www.durangoderailers.com/donate or go to our team website (www.durangoderailers.com) and click on the ‘Donate’ tab

Click on the ‘Donate Here’ button to be directed to our portal on The Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado.

  1. Supporters can make a one-time donation or a recurring donation! The recurring donation would be a monthly recurring donation that we will receive by auto payment each month. This would make a huge difference for our cause to have this ongoing support!
  2. Please let everyone know to enter your name in the “Donate in honor or memory of” section so that we can track it to you. This is located right below where they will put their dollar amount in.

Also attached is a Sponsor Letter that is a good template for you to make little tweaks and draft as your own. Send it to friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. If you know someone who would like to consider being a team Corporate Sponsor, the Corporate Sponsorship Table is attached showing the levels and the acknowledgement they will receive with the team events all year long.

We also have rider flyers we can personalize for you. If you are interested, please contact Mary at durangoderailerspaf@gmail.com or feel free to personalize it yourself on Canva here.

Zwift Group Rides & Workouts

Meet the Brothers Family

We are riding to send a powerful message to families like ours: you are not alone. Our journey with Sweet Pepper quickly led us to Children's Hospital in Denver, right after her birth. Seven weeks in the NICU felt like an eternity, but finally, we made it home, only to begin routine weekly trips back to Denver. Nine consecutive trips so far, and there are many more to go.

The Durango Derailers have been our unexpected guardian angels, providing both financial and emotional lifelines. Knowing that before Pepper was even born, people, strangers, were donating their time and resources to lighten our heavy load is a blessing I can’t put into words. These are the hardest days of our lives. The Durango Derailers have been there with us every step of the way.
