Portage Area Chamber of Commerce
NEWS BREAK
September 2021
Taste of Portage 2021 Was A Blast!
Market Square was the place to be to catch the 30th year of the Taste of Portage Market Fair this past weekend.

Great food and live music from Best Practice, Copper Box and Road Trip were some highlights of this year's event, which also featured craft vendors, kid’s activities and car show.

The event, reconfigured to accommodate Wisconsin Street road construction, drew 74 classic cars to Edgewater Street. Craft vendors displayed their wares behind Wilz Hometown Pharmacy while the food vendors served patrons with their delicious dishes and cold beverages at Market Square.

Thank you to all the sponsors, vendors and volunteers!!
We'll see you next year on August 26 & August 27, 2022!!

News from Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative
Do you know of an individual or organization that could use some extra funding for a specific project or item? Look no further than our Operation Round-Up Grant! The Portage Curling Club is a recent recipient of our grant and we’re here to help our community grow and thrive. Visit our website to learn more and to apply. Deadlines are quarterly and the next deadline is October 15. Encourage those you know to apply.

Our safety program comes to you, for free! Electrical safety can be taught in a classroom, outdoors with our hotline trailer, or both. These presentations draw attention to the purpose of lineman safety gear, ACEC equipment, and the harmful or potentially fatal effects of coming into contact with energized power lines. Share this information with local fire departments, first responders, schools, and other organizations you think would benefit from a safety presentation. Give us a call at (800) 831-8629 or email us to schedule a safety presentation.

We need your help! We’re asking for your help in locating members who have moved off of our lines. On our website is a listing of former members with unclaimed patronage capital (a.k.a. money!) Members accrue patronage capital while they have service with us. Over time, our board of directors retires (refunds) this patronage back to our members. Members may move during the time and forget to keep us updated with their current address. Please take a moment to look through this list. If you see a name you recognize, please ask them to contact us directly. We appreciate your help.
