August 15: Assumption Mass

The Assumption commemorates the divine act of taking Mary into Heaven, symbolizing the bountiful gifts of God’s first harvest. Join us on Tuesday, August 15, as we celebrate the inaugural Solemnity Mass of our Blessed Mother at our newly designated basilica shrine. As is tradition, we encourage you to bring gifts from your garden to the celebration. Adorn Our Lady’s Central Shrine altar with beautiful flowers, and your fruit and vegetable donations, which will be distributed to those in need after Mass.

Pray the Rosary Online

with the Daughters of Charity

One of the Blessed Mother’s enduring and universal messages to the world is to pray the Holy Rosary. The Basilica Shrine invites you to pray the Rosary Online and submit your intentions for placement at Our Lady’s altar. You can also pray the Rosary with the Daughters via Facebook every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. (ET). 

Marian Movement and Meditation Through the Rosary Retreat

On Monday, August 21, the Beyond Sunday™ program at The Basilica Shrine presents a retreat designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. The retreat includes a Soul Core Rosary Exercise session, light refreshments, journaling, prayer, and a Novena/Mass service.

Novena Prayers Online

As home of the Miraculous Medal Perpetual Novena since 1930, The Basilica Shrine is pleased to announce that starting in August, we will present our weekly Novena service in a new format. Marian devotees from around the world will be able to pray the Novena with us virtually by visiting our Facebook or Instagram page each Monday or our new Novena webpage. The new webpage will be accessible anytime you wish to pray and will contain additional content and resources that we hope will further assist you in your spiritual journey.
