Dear District 113 Community,

By now I hope you have had the time to read last night’s email announcing that the Board has appointed Dr. Chala Holland to serve as the next superintendent. Dr. Holland currently serves as Assistant Superintendent Superintendent Administrative Services - High Schools in Naperville Community Unit School District 203. As she transitions into taking over the role full-time on July 1, Dr. Holland will be spending some time in District 113. When those visits take place, we will make you aware of opportunities to meet and welcome Dr. Holland to District 113. 

One of the first items that she will oversee is the process of filling the HPHS Principal vacancy upon Debby Finn’s retirement at the end of this school year. Yesterday an anonymous, confidential survey was sent in English and Spanish to current HPHS students and current parents and guardians as well as parents and guardians of incoming ninth graders. That survey closes on February 26. Stakeholder meetings are being held today and tomorrow to gather your input to form the profile of the qualities and characteristics the community seeks in the next HPHS principal. I hope you will take the time to participate. Once that profile is created and shared with the Board at its next regular meeting on March 5, Dr. Holland will work with the search firm, Search Exec Connect, to review candidates and hold stakeholder interviews with the finalists.

Espero que ya hayan tenido tiempo de leer el correo electrónico de anoche anunciando que la Junta ha designado a la Dra. Chala Holland como próxima superintendente. La Dra. Holland actualmente se desempeña como Superintendente Adjunta y Superintendente de Servicios Administrativos - Escuelas Secundarias en el Distrito Escolar 203 de la Unidad Comunitaria de Naperville. A medida que hace la transición para asumir el cargo de tiempo completo el 1 de julio, la Dra. Holland pasará algún tiempo en el Distrito 113. ¿Cuándo? Si se llevan a cabo esas visitas, le informaremos sobre las oportunidades para conocer y darle la bienvenida al Dr. Holland al Distrito 113.

Ayer se envió una encuesta anónima y confidencial en inglés y español a los estudiantes actuales de HPHS y a los padres y tutores actuales, así como a los padres y tutores de los estudiantes entrantes al noveno grado. Esa encuesta se cierra el 26 de febrero. Hoy y mañana se llevarán a cabo reuniones de las partes interesadas para recopilar sus aportes y formar el perfil de las cualidades y características que la comunidad busca en el próximo director de HPHS. Espero que te tomes el tiempo para participar. Una vez que ese perfil se cree y se comparta con la Junta en su próxima reunión ordinaria el 5 de marzo, el Dr. Holland trabajará con la empresa de búsqueda Search Exec Connect para revisar los candidatos y realizar entrevistas con las partes interesadas con los finalistas.
