E.J. Callahan & Associates is pleased to announce Jeff Rogers as our new Tax Director. Jeff joins EJC with over 16 years of experience specializing in tax planning, tax research & compliance, IRS & State Exam Representation, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Business succession & ownership transitions, with a focus in the construction, real estate, non-profit, restaurant, manufacturing & distribution industries. He helps businesses adopt the most tax efficient accounting methods available to them and identifies all tax credit and incentives to which they may be entitled. In recent years, Jeff has developed a deep understanding of the Employee Retention Credit program and has presented on the topic for the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts, Inc. (ASM), and various Chambers of Commerce. Jeff was recently published in the Boston Business Journal and Cape & Plymouth Business Media on the subject matter. Jeff has also published a webcast on The Increasing Role of Board Governance

Prior to joining EJC, Jeff has served as both a Partner and Director at regional and national CPA firms. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Merrimack College and a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Bentley University. Jeff is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA), the ASM, and the CFMA. Jeff is also on the MSCPA Taxation Committee, a Board Member for the Danvers American Little League and volunteers in the Danvers Youth Soccer program.

EJC welcomes Kate Powlowsky as a Senior Audit Associate. Kate joins with 3 years of experience at a Big 4 firm, where her focus area was asset management auditing. A member of the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA), Kate holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of New Hampshire.

EJC welcomes back Ashley Round as an Audit Associate. Ashley interned with EJC during the summer of 2021 and returns to the firm with a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Marketing from the University of New Hampshire. She is currently studying for the CPA exam. Prior to joining EJC, Ashley worked as a recruiter, placing high level contract consultants on IT projects nationwide.

EJC welcomes Cathryn Scanlon as an Audit Associate. Cathryn joins with a year of experience in ERISA and employee benefit plan consulting and auditing. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a minor in Writing & Editing from the University of New Hampshire. Cathryn also volunteers for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

EJC welcomes Dakota Handly as an Audit & Tax Intern. Dakota joins EJC as a student at Bentley University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy. He is a certified Income Tax Assistance Preparer and a student member of the AICPA and MSCPA. Dakota is also a member of the Boy Scouts of America.
