Individuals who eat their lunch inside will be selected at random by the COMPUTER GENERATED WHEEL to be "Senior of the Month". This grants the person selected FIRST for everything, starting at the beginning of the month on January 2nd and run through January 31st.

The York County Food Bank has a new warehouse located at 15 Marianne Drive, York, PA 17406.

Central PA Food Bank Fresh Express is usually available the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.

York Fresh Food Farm Available Every Thursday at White Rose Senior Center!


Growing Time is in full bloom with the York Fresh Food Farms Mobile Produce Market! Come check out and see all of the delicious fruits and vegetables that are at White Rose Senior Center every Thursday from 12:00-2:00. They accept cash and EBT cards, weather permitting. NOTE: On cold days, they may be INSIDE OUR BUILDING in the lobby area.


They offer the online Farm Share Boxes that are delivered free of charge if you can't make make Thursdays in-person at White Rose Senior Center.


Peggy Horton is the "SENIOR OF THE MONTH" for January 2024


She will be the FIRST for Lunch, Fresh Express, Senior Commodity Supplemental Food Box, Crafts, Games...and any other activities we do in January!

How Do I Receive Congregate Lunches at

White Rose Senior Center?


  • You must be 60 or older, a York County Resident and able to take care of yourself in order to become a member at White Rose Senior Center.
  • Lunches are served Monday through Friday at 11:30.
  • You are invited to eat inside and participate in all of the activities or pick your lunch up in the lobby.
  • You do need to call (717-843-9704) or come inside the building and touch the computer screen to reserve your lunch 2 days in advance.

VIRTUAL PROGRAMS


During the Pandemic, many senior centers, churches, businesses, and organizations turned to Virtual Programming as a means to stay connected. White Rose Senior Center and Windy Hill on the Campus remain committed to offering people programs at home so if you can't make it to the Center one day, you can "tune in" on your cell phone, computer or tablet and enjoy activities and time together with your friends while sitting on your own comfy couch!

White Rose Senior Center will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024 to observe Martin Luther King Day.

Springettsbury Township and White Rose Senior Center are proud to bring you a variety of classes to adults 50 and over.


“S.T.A.R.S.” stands for “Senior Time Activities for Residents of Springettsbury”, although any person, 50 and over, are welcome to attend. The Winter 2024 classes are as follows:



You may register for the classes at www.springettsbury.com, stopping into the Springettsbury Township office at (temporary address) 3501 N. Sherman St. Ext., York, PA 17406 or mailing a check to them.


Registrations will begin on December 5th. You may want to call Springettsbury Township at 717.757.3521.

STARS Program Class: Bingo and Lunch at Hoss’s Steak & Seahouse

White Rose Senior Center and Springettsbury Township will offer “Bingo” at Hoss’s Steak & Seahouse. Prizes will be given to all of the winners. Lunch will be served prior to Bingo. Come and join in the fun!

Cost: $5.00 payable to Springettsbury Township prior to the class for bingo. (No Resident / Non-Resident Differentiation); Lunch is on your own. (Approximately $11.00-$13.00 for your meal and beverage) You must eat there in order to play bingo! 

STARS Program Class: Needlefelted Snowlady Mary Jane will teach you how to use a barbed needle and wool roving to fashion this cute winter Snowlady. We will make the body and then add mittens, shawl and a fancy bonnet. Many colors will be available for these accessories.

Supplies: Bring a car wash sponge.

STARS Program Class: Valentine Heart Sache Marti Leader will show you how to create a Valentine Heart Sache. These are adorable and have a scent of lavender in them. You will hand stitch, embroider, and embellish the sachets to make them unique. One will be completed at the class. This is a sweet gift for someone special!

Supplies: Scissors and glue/mod podge. All other supplies will be provided by the instructor.

Since we enjoyed the Folded Fabric Christmas Ornaments so much, Becky Hickey decided to show us how to make a Fabric Folded Easter Egg. The egg will be 4” x 6”. You will choose pre-cut fabrics to create a beautiful egg to display during Easter.

Supplies: Scissors. All other supplies will be provided by the instructor.

Supplies: Students should bring fabric scissors, straight pins and sewing needles. Everything else will be provided.
