On Sunday, June 2 at 10am, the Chancel Choir and orchestra will present Gabriel Fauré’s incomparably beautiful Requiem. Composed in 1888, this exquisite piece of music broke new ground as Fauré explored the subject of death and the afterlife from a radically new point of view: as rest and light, rather than judgment and fear.
Also on the program that day will be two new orchestral offerings by Stephen Main in keeping with the overall theme. Our spring Choir Sunday always culminates the choir’s work through the year, and you won’t want to miss this deeply moving performance.
