Important Dates Coming Up At Amana:

Below you will find a detailed summary of Amana Academy’s Remote & Face-to-Face learning plan for Spring 2021 semester. Note: many aspects of this learning plan have already been communicated to parents.


Adjustments to Expect in January:

  1. Class Times and Schedules will look different for both Remote AND Face-to-Face students in Spring. Classes will start earlier and end a bit later. Please make sure you have gone through this Spring Learning Plan and checked your child's schedule.
  2. Amana will be using a Simultaneous Learning model. This means that teachers will be teaching Face-to-Face students and Remote students at the same time from the school building. Please read Spring Learning Plan for more info.
  3. Each Friday will be Asynchronous. We will be starting Asynchronous Friday’s in Spring to provide teachers the time to prepare high quality lessons. This means there will be no live classes on Friday’s, but students are still expected to complete lessons that can be found on Google Classroom and Seesaw. Face-to-Face students will stay home on Friday's.

Zoom Updates: Logging Into Classes


In the past couple weeks, we have communicated that students will need to log into their Google accounts in order to access their Zoom classes.

However, we have been alerted to login issues students are experiencing via Zoom. To ensure a smooth learning week, all students will login as they normally would have during Fall semester. Again, until further notice, students will NOT need to sign-in with their Amana email during the first week back. We will alert you of any updates in the days to come.

IMPORTANT PARENT ACTIONS:

Families Returning Back Remotely:

  1. Please read this important Spring Learning Plan. Take note: the daily class schedule for remote learners has changed.
  2.  If you do not have internet at home and your child receives free/reduced lunch or your financial situation has changed and you are in need of home internet, please complete the Wi-Fi Request form.


Families Returning Back Face-to-Face:

  1. If you are using Bus transportation in Spring, please take a look at this Video Recording of our Bus Meeting from December, along with our PowerPoint Presentation.
  2. F2F students are required to bring a device to school, along with other important materials. Please take a look at our Spring Learning Plan for a complete list of materials.
  3. Friday, Jan. 8th at 12pm: Parent F2F Meeting to discuss important F2F logistics (carpool, safety, materials, expectations, etc). Please plan to attend this meeting. You can join the Parent Meeting via Zoom here. 
  4. Please fill out this "Parent Preference for Transportation Form" by Sunday, Jan. 10th to let us know how your child will be going home starting in January. ALL F2F families must fill this form out.

RECOMMITMENT FORM:
All Parents Returning in August Need to Fill Out


ALL Families returning back to Amana Academy next year for Fall Semester in August 2021 MUST complete this Recommitment Form. 

In order to reserve your child's seat for next year, each family must complete and submit the Recommitment Form by January 31, 2021. This is only for students currently attending and any siblings that will be new to the school, next August.

January 7th or 8th:
Parent Volunteers Needed for Spring Setup

Amana parents, we're so grateful for the help we've received from volunteers as we prepare for back-to-school in Spring. Thank you!

We'd love some continued assistance if you are available for 1-2 hours on January 7th or 8th from 10am-4pm to set up teacher carts.

Amana's 2-Week 2-Hour Winter Challenge!

Amana is launching its 2 week 2 hour Winter Challenge during Winter Break! Spend 2 hours completing iReady during Winter Break (1 hour of ELA and 1 hour of Math), and you get "Eagle Points" to spend at Amana! *Virtual learners will also have a "drive through" opportunity to participate!
