A Message from Dr. Hilton

Bronco Parents,

I am thrilled to be your new principal and honored to join this wonderful community. With 23 years of experience in education, I am excited to bring my passion for learning and commitment to student success at Bradfield Elementary.

Throughout the summer, I collaborated with our former principal, Regina Dumar, to ensure a seamless transition. Her dedication has set a strong foundation, and I am eager to build upon the momentum she has created. Together, we will continue to foster a nurturing and vibrant environment where every student can thrive.

I look forward to meeting each of you and working together to support our amazing Broncos. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for questions or concerns at hiltona@hpisd.org or (214) 780-3200.

Warm regards,

Dr. Aimee Hilton

Bradfield Elementary Principal

HOURS:

7:55AM to 3:15PM

Students are tardy after 7:55AM. After 9:35AM, students are counted absent.

ABSENCES:

Email brattendance@hpisd.org and your teacher to let us know that your child is out, the reason why and who their teacher is.

We ONLY need a doctor's note when a child has a doctor visit that happens during the school day and the child comes in late from that appointment, leaves early for that appointment, or leaves school and returns on that very same day.

1st DAY OF SCHOOL TIPS:

Dr. Hilton’s Tips to help you and your child have a great first week.

  • On the first day of school:
  • The front doors will be open from 7:30 to 7:55.
  • Please arrive a few minutes early for photo opportunities on the front lawn.
  • Parents are welcome to walk children to their classrooms, where the teachers will be ready to greet them.
  • Beginning the second day of school:
  • Students arriving between 7:30-7:50 will report to designated areas in the building: Kindergartners- 4th graders report to the gym and PreK students report to their POD until they are dismissed to class.
  • Parents may still walk students to class between 7:45-7:55. After 7:55, we kindly ask that you make your way to the main entrance/exit doors, so the students may start their day.
  • Entry and exit is allowed only through Bradfield’s main front doors facing Southern Avenue.
  • Know your PM dismissal procedures?
  •  Make sure your child/teacher knows how they are getting home, especially the first day/week of school.
  • Each family will receive a new carpool number at Meet the Teacher.
  • Help your child memorize their carpool tag number.

Afternoon carpool begins at 3:10PM.

On the first day of school (Wednesday, August 14), Carpool will only run in the afternoon. Please plan to walk to school that first morning.

Do not block driveways or park in handicapped or reserved spots.

A Message from our PTA President, Rachel Reed

Welcome back, Broncos!

PTA is so excited to see everyone back at Bradfield on Wednesday to kick off another incredible year!

I owe a huge thanks to every single volunteer who took time over the summer to spend on PTA efforts and activities,  There were MANY of you!  We are ready for ‘24-25, thanks to your dedication and energy.

In particular, this week I want to thank Laura Terry, our BSSU Chair, who ensured that no detail was overlooked and that BSSU went off without a hitch for Bradfield.  We would be lost without her knowledge and experience.

Also thank you to Kiki Wallace and Isabella Medina, our School Supply Chairs.  From coordinating with vendors to lugging boxes to leading a small army of volunteers, Kiki and Isabella made sure every teacher and Bronco is ready for Day 1 with shiny, new supplies of notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, and so much more.

Lastly, PTA was honored to host our beloved staff on Friday for a Back to School Fiesta Lunch. Thank you to Corrie Rae for opening her beautiful home for the event. Thank you to our Staff Appreciation team of Rebecca Bell, Anna Jackson, Aimee Key, Katie Samler and Angie Shank, for putting on the wonderful lunch.  Thank you to our Gift Chairs, Stephanie Ernst and Allison Small, who distribute with such thoughtfulness, care and creativity the financial gifts to staff that our PTA supporters make possible. Finally, thank you to our Bradfield Buggy crew of Maggie Apple, Jacquelyn Austin, Meredith Baird, Mallory Broaddus, Katy Brooks, Aubrey Labanowski, Kendrick Leckband, Courtney McCauley, Diana Oates, Allie Stensrud, Medley Turner and Kamela Aboussie, who braved an unexpected thunderstorm to shuttle our amazing staff in golf carts from Bradfield and back.

Looking forward to making it a fantastic year, Broncos!

With gratitude,

Rachel
