We hope you have had a great winter break! Our first few newsletters of the semester will be packed full of career events and opportunities, and you will notice that this reflects the fact that most company and career events take place during the first few weeks of the semester. Be sure to check out the Pamplin Career Events Calendar for the events scheduled so far for the spring, and mark your calendars with any events you are interested in attending. We encourage you to take some time and read through each section of this newsletter, and don't forget that Business Horizons are just around the corner! See below for resources to prepare and start your career search off strong in the new year!

Spring 2024 Business Horizons Career Fair!


The Spring Business Horizons Career Fair will be presented in-person on Thursday, February 1st. We encourage all students to attend as this will be the largest opportunity for you to meet and connect with recruiters all semester! Many students will receive internships and full-time job opportunities at the spring fair.

Volunteer for Business Horizons!

Volunteers are essential to a successful career fair! Volunteers help with employer set-up and support, student check-in, clean up and breakdown. Student volunteers receive a free t-shirt, detailed instructions, and an opportunity to earn valuable face time with employers at one of the largest recruiting events on campus!

  • Bring your resume to "Prepare for the Fair" on January 29th & January 30th from 10am-3pm in the Pamplin Atrium to get feedback from Pamplin Career Services and Company recruiters!
  • Book an appointment with Pamplin Career Services.
  • E-mail your resume to pcobcareers@vt.edu with the subject “Resume Review”. Pamplin Career Services will return feedback as soon as possible, but please expect a delay during high-volume.

Company Meet & Greets are when companies come to the Pamplin Atrium and setup booths for students to learn more about their employment opportunities. companies will distribute food, swag and info about their company. Business Horizons Advance Check-In

Wednesday, January 31st from 10am-2pm | Pamplin Atrium

Come register early for Business Horizons! You will need your Hokie Passport or Student ID number to pick up your nametag. We strongly recommend picking up your nametag before the Career Fair to avoid long lines during the event. Students will receive one nametag that will serve as their entrance ticket to the Business Horizons Career Fair.


Business Horizons Career Fair - Behind the Scenes Tour

Wednesday, January 31st from 7:30pm-8:30pm | Squires

First time attending Business Horizons or a career fair? Get the lay of the land by joining us for a tour of the career fair venue. We'll show you a behind the scenes look of company booths and share exactly how you can plan your day for success! You’ll also get a chance to grab your nametag early if you were not able to earlier in the week!

Spring Inclusion Dinner

Interns will assist in conducting School Activity Fund Audits and other audits as necessary. Candidates selected are required to provide own transportation for in-city travel; mileage reimbursement provided.
