Traffic Notice: Work on JMA Dome Impacts Forestry Drive

Signage construction at the JMA Wireless Dome is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Jan. 18, and will impact ESF pedestrian and vehicular traffic on Forestry Drive.

A large crane is scheduled to be assembled Jan. 18-19 — and then disassembled around Feb. 6-7, to be confirmed later — to place a new sign on the Dome. During the crane build, there will be significant truck traffic and unloading near Gate B, Sadler Hall, the Law School, and the west end of Forestry Drive. Please be aware and use caution: Large pieces of equipment will be on the ground from in front of the Dome all the way across Forestry Drive just above (east of) the security house, blocking the road to all traffic.

None of ESF’s parking will be impacted, and access to campus will still be available from the east area (Euclid Avenue), and up the back, southern side (Campus Drive) accessed by CenTen and the Physical Plant.

Once assembled, the crane will reside near the west-facing wall of the Dome and Forestry Drive will reopen. Sign construction is expected to take at least three weeks, dependent on the weather. If wind requires the crane to be lowered for safety reasons, Forestry Drive will close for up to two hours until secured, then will be accessible for parking, driving, and walking.
