🍎 Build the Foundation β†’

β€Š
β€Š

When you give to PCEF, you Build the Foundation for every student to succeed. Our schools are excellent even though $170 million of our education tax dollars leave Park City.

Change the equation for PCSD students by donating $2 per school day ($360), or joining Scholar Circle ($1,000 or more). Your support ensures Park City's excellent legacy will endure.

PCEF's Annual Parent Appeal Campaign to Build the Foundation will run July 1st - October 4th, 2024. There will be competitions among schools and students for PTO/A grants, pizza parties, breakfast parties and more. Any gift given to PCEF from July 1st through October 4th will count toward Parent Appeal. (Note: Build the Foundation replaces our Beat the Call campaign.)

Dylan Rifkin, a junior who has been a part of PCCAPS for two semesters, shared his thoughts on how the program has shaped his educational experience.

"PCCAPS has shown me what it's like to work in the real world and how to manage people and responsibility," said Rifkin. "It teaches you how to intertwine these skills, which will help everyone who takes PCCAPS be successful in the long run.”

πŸ“± TMJH's Cell Phone Pouch Pilot Program 🚫

β€Š

Photo: Students using Yonder cell phone pouches in a phone-free space.

More than 1,500 parents and staff from EHMS, TMJH, and PCHS participated in a survey this past spring gauging opinions on cell phone use in schools. The survey findings showed 85% of respondents supported a cell phone ban and 74% of survey respondents supported a cell phone pouch system to manage usage. TMJH will be the first school of the three to initiate a Cell Phone Pouch Pilot Program this year, using the Yondr locking pouch system.

PCEF is funding the Yondr Pouch Pilot Program thanks to generous donors including Roberts Rothe Fund for Perpetual Giving, matched by a generous gift from the Alnoba Lewis Family Foundation, and several other supporters.

The PCSD school board will vote on a district-wide cell phone policy on August 20th. Parents can comment at the meeting, or via email.

πŸŽ’ JRES & MPES Preschool Ribbon Cutting βœ‚οΈ

β€Š
β€Š

As Jeremy Ranch Elementary School (JRES) and McPolin Elementary School (MPES) open their doors this fall, it’s a direct reflection of the collective effort of many who have made this come to fruition in the best interest of Park City’s youngest learners. Since the beginning of the PCSD Preschool Program in 2011-2012, PCEF has been a cornerstone of support, as the first funder in this community-led effort, stepping in when the Department of Workforce Services grant fell through, and here for the long term as a nimble and sustainable partner.

PCEF supports high-quality preschool for working families by investing in the future of Park City, ensuring lasting benefits for our community.
