Guide to Confirming Enrollment

Picture Day is August 29th

School picture day process will be completed as a PROOF PICTURE DAY. Students will receive a printed form on picture day with their image choices and online ordering instructions. Orders will be due seven days following picture day. Any orders received after that seventh day will be delayed in processing and will take several additional weeks to arrive at school.

Your student will also receive their required school ID the day their picture is taken.

So excited for our '23-'24 School Year! Make sure to encourage your student to check their email regularly for important information.

Every class counts!! Remember that it is 28 credits to graduate--so start strong, ask questions and finish stronger!

PARENTS! Thank you for all you do each day. We appreciate you supporting your student(s) through their high school adventure!

Take a look at our Sport Schedule HERE and come out to support our teams! We also have plenty of clubs to participate in as well--we would love to see you there!

Education! It is worth it and we are here to support you!

Marine way calendar! HERE is a link to our School Calendar at a glance. This month we have NO SCHOOL on Sept. 4th and 29th!

Be on time and attend each day! Missing 10% of school or more is considered chronically absent, so come and join us!

Every Marine Every Day!! Make sure to show your school pride by wearing Marine wear on Mondays and for game day Fridays!!

Remember to get involved! High School only happens one time and we want our students to take full advantage of all that we offer! Leave no regrets!!

High School Principal

Dear MHS Families!

Greetings from Marinette High School!  I hope summer has been good for everyone and that we’re ready for school to start!  I have a few reminders and new information below that we will be discussing with students the first week of school.

First, we want to remind you and all students will be assigned lockers again this year so no backpacks can be brought into classrooms. Please remind your student(s) to make sure the locker is locked and that they do not give their combination out to anyone.  Also, if they have a PE class, please remind them to lock up their belongings in the locker rooms.  That is one place where we see thefts take place because things are not locked up.  They can get a lock from their PE teacher or main office.

Second, I wanted to remind all students/parents/guardians that it is so important to get a strong start to the school year.  Please help us by monitoring your son/daughter’s grades and attendance.  Checking a couple times a week is a great way to stay current with them in Canvas and/or Skyward.  If you need any help with this or log-in information, please call our High School Office for support.

Third, when students enter the building, we are reducing the number of open doors around the building.  Starting this year, only door #20 in the back will be open for students.  Door 20 is also known as the pool doors.  The old “senior doors” will not be accessible before school.  When students are late in the morning, they can also use door 20 and be buzzed in.  We will have an admin assistant in that area so we can issue passes to first hour.  Just a reminder that the bell to begin first block is 7:50 am and if they come to school after that it will be logged as a tardy or a late in their attendance.  This will also count towards habitual truancy so it is very important that students arrive on time.  We will continue to open the front doors at 7:20 am so they are able to get breakfast if they choose and have time to eat in the commons before it’s time to get to class.

Finally, if you have a student who drives to school, please remind them they need to register for a parking permit every year.  When they fill out the form and get signatures, they will be issued a new parking pass.  We will also talk about this the first week of school, but if they can come in early, they can get that taken care of.  Let’s make this a great school year!!

Sincerely,

Matt Draheim
