Class of 2026

Dear Students and Families of the Class of 2026,

Welcome to your junior year! It feels like just yesterday we were meeting each other for the first time. It is hard to believe that the once-timid faces that were new to the Upper School just a few years ago are now leading the way at Beaver as 11th graders. We hope you all had moments of rejuvenation this summer and are gearing up for the school year that is quickly approaching.

This year, all of you will continue to pave your path at Beaver and explore different ways to cultivate your interests. Some members of your class will attend NuVu, while others will dive back into the Design Level. You will serve as role models for the 9th and 10th grade students in athletics, performing arts, clubs, and leadership positions. You will reconnect with the friends and teachers who have positively impacted your Beaver experience thus far, and you will continue to expand those relationships and form new ones. We are excited to have four new faces in the 11th grade, and I hope you all will help us in welcoming them into our community.

This year will also be one of great importance as you begin to think about life after Beaver and where that may lead you. Rest assured the amazing staff in our College Counseling department will begin to guide you through this process after we return from winter break. We encourage you to invest your time in the things you are most passionate about and take advantage of all of the resources Beaver has to offer. Be proactive by reaching out to your teachers, your advisor, and us so you can access all of these resources to make your time at Beaver meaningful and successful.

Now let's jump in and talk about the first week of school!

  • πŸŽ’ On our first day back to campus, Tuesday, September 3, you will start the day at 8:00 a.m. in advisory to reconnect and look ahead; you will also end the day in advisory with a reflective check-in.
  • πŸ“Έ Mark your calendars: Picture Day is on Thursday, September 5.
  • πŸŽ‰ On Friday, September 6, the junior class will head to Boda Borg for BVR First Friday. (More details on this below!)

On Friday, September 6, we'll participate in BVR First Friday by doing off-campus questing at Boda Borg in Malden. In order for each student to fully participate a parent or caregiver must complete this waiver. If the student is over 18, they may fill out the form themselves. We will have a pizza lunch at Boda Borg so please contact us directly if you have any dietary needs. Sneakers or similar footwear are required, and we suggest you wear comfortable clothes.

Any medications a student needs to take while on the trip must be checked by the school nurse, Talia Ossowski, at least 3 days in advance and accompanied by one of these two forms: Self-Administration of Medication Form OR Chaperone Administration of Medication Form. Students should carry their own Epipens and inhalers. Please communicate with Talia (tossowski@bcdschool.org, 617-738-2739) about any medical questions.

We look forward to supporting you in our role as Grade Team Leaders this year and can’t wait to welcome you back to campus next week.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
