Happy 2024!

Please welcome new superintendent, Dr. Brian Lucas, to Culver City Unified School District. I concluded my work on the ad-hoc superintendent search committee when he was chosen as a finalist in November 2023. He officially starts Monday, January 15th but has been transitioning since November, getting to know our community and immediate needs. He has the experience, knowledge, passion, and growth-mindset needed to lead CCUSD into an excellent future and I'm very excited for him to join us this week.

Thank you for a wonderful first year as an elected official! 2023 was a year of progress and growth. In addition to my committee assignments and attending community events, I had the privilege to participate in leadership positions and as a member of several organizations at city, county, and state levels. Proud to prioritize bringing knowledge and resources to CCUSD, I fully attended and completed California School Board Association's Masters in Governance Program, Advanced Governance Team Leadership for Experience Board Members, and other issue-specific professional development opportunities throughout the year. I'm grateful to you for allowing me to serve; your trust and support means so much. In 2024, I'm looking forward to continued growth in academic excellence and CCUSD's culture of care.
