2013 "What if ...?" Seminar Series

Since 2009 we've held more than 20 "What if...?" seminars as part of our annual series.  Topics have ranged from Conceptual Modeling to Sustainable Water Heaters and everything inbetween.  We are working to put topics and speakers together for our 2013 series based on the feedback we received from many of you. If you have a topic that is of interest to you, please contact Debbie right away!

Introducing ...

Our world is in a crazy place; so much unrest and uncertainty.  But here at home in Richmond, Virginia, we're lucky.  We have families and friends we love.  We have work that is fulfilling and meaningful.  And we have an amazing group of team members here at D&P.  We'd like you to meet the rest of the Dunlap family.  Each month we will highlight one of our unsung hero's (and reveal their super powers). We've got some fun questions and even funnier answers.

Meet Mary Sue Bancroft.
Mary Sue Bancroft and
Mary Sue with Rikka and Bella
You may have caught a glimpse of Mary Sue in the office or talked to her on  the phone, but chances are good you haven't gotten a chance to meet her.  That's because she's locked away busy keeping us straight.  She's our Corporate Administrative Manager and in charge of keeping our administrative systems organized and working properly.  Mary Sue has been with us since 2002 coming from a 14 year career with SunTrust Bank in the Executive Services Department.  She has a lot more fun with us - and we're lucky to have her.

Ruminations from Dunlap
Over the holidays, I read an article in Fast Company (Spaces that Heal, Dec 2012/ Jan 2013) that got me thinking about change. The article states that for many reasons, hospitals need to change and part of that change is patient needs being put front and center. Hospitals are turning to architects for help. The example given cites the design solution being based on the geometrical shape of a parallelogram.  So, back to change ... how often do we see a problem as a square or rectangle instead of a triangle - or parallelogram.  Turn it around, upside down and sideways.  Think ... "what about ...?" or "What if ...?"
