June is full of activities you don't want to miss!

What a warm welcome the Lakeview and Mississauga Community received on opening day May 26!

Our local farmers and artisans were delighted to see you all supporting local businesses. The morning was packed with fresh produce, beautifully scented candles, handmade soaps, one-of-a-kind jewelry, and great ambiance provided by Jazz Plazma, who set the perfect morning vibes.

But this is just the beginning of this season's Lakeview Market. CreativeHub's team is working tirelessly to ensure that every weekend offers enjoyable activities alongside the support of our local vendors.

Now in its third year running, Summer Arts Mississauga will return during the month of July. Featuring a variety of curated art and maker workshops exploring multiple mediums and materials, this program provides Mississauga-based artists and community members an opportunity to teach and learn. 

Dive into creativity this summer with our workshops starting July 2, 2024. Held between two locations; The Living Arts Centre and the Small Arms Inspection Building. Limited spaces available.

CreativeHub 1352 Photography Exhibition Call

CreativeHub 1352 invites photographers and photo-based artists to participate in a group exhibition celebrating Mississauga’s 50th anniversary. Themed "Mississauga Then & Now" and "What Does Mississauga Mean to You", submissions should explore local heritage, history, and the role of placemaking.

The exhibition will showcase the narrative of growth and transformation of Mississauga through archival and contemporary works by local artists.

Key Details

  • Eligibility: Open to current and past residents of Mississauga or those with a close connection to the region.
  • Exhibition Dates: October 24th-31st
  • Location: Small Arms Inspection Building, 1352 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga ON L5E 1E9
  • Applications Open: June 5th, 2024
  • Applications Close: June 30th, 2024, 11:59 PM EST
  • Notification: Artists will be notified in August.
  • Compensation: CARFAC fees for selected artists (approximately 16 artists).

Submission Requirements

  • Artist Statement: 250 words max.
  • Project Statement: 175 words max.
  • Bio: 100 words max.
  • Images: 3-5 images named in the format "01_lastname" to be submitted via Google Drive or Dropbox.
  • Image List: Title, medium, dimensions, year
  • Link: Website and/or social media

This exhibition will run alongside "Stories of the Small Arms," highlighting the history of the Small Arms Ltd. munitions plant. CreativeHub 1352 acknowledges the traditional territory of the First Nation peoples and aims to honor the diverse experiences related to Mississauga.

Upcoming exhibitions

The exhibit "FACING IT, studies in portraiture” by Steve Rosew, will be on display from May 27 to June 18, with the opening reception on June 1st, from 1 to 4 pm. 

It would be very appreciated if you could attend the reception.

The venue is at Studio M Gallery on 951 Lakeshore Rd. E., Mississauga.
