THE FOURTH SUNDAY IN LENT
March 10, 2024
| |
|
|
Dear George,
In an inspiring sermon today by Canon Hebert (Spanish language also), we were encouraged to allow the Christ who loves and seeks us to indwell the depths of our being, thereby fulfilling the Ten Commandments read in our first lesson. You may listen to his sermon on YouTube, with a link below.
As our Lenten Season progresses, parish life seems to pause not at all! Jenny Kersten will have hip surgery the evening of March 3 after a fall March 2, so it will be well to place her in your evening prayers, together with so many others for whom we intercede.
Following the theft of an iPhone from a car Lent Two, remember to lock your cars, and to carry purses and such not with you to the Communion Rail and to keep them near to hand at all times.
May a Holy Lent be yours, and ours in communally,
GFW+

You are permitted to wear Green this day...though the Vestments will remain Lenten.

THE DANI FUND
The Dani fund was established 13 years ago, when Dani was first born and brought to St. Paul’s by Papa Daniel. The fund was used to support Dani with diapers, formula and whatever he needed. As a toddler, he went to live with Claudia and Bruce Stuart, though they were unable to adopt him until recently. The Dani fund has been used to help with Dani’s schooling and medical needs. This is still the case, especially in light of Claudia’s death 6 months ago and Bruce’s cancer diagnosis. Dani attends Bereshit Christian School. The fund pays his tuition, textbooks and uniform costs, as well as his medical needs. He has seen a therapist for grief, which the fund also pays for. This has been a rough year for Dani and the fund helps provide him with the stability of a school he likes and therapy to help deal with the changes occurring in his life.
If you have been paying into the Dani fund, either as a one time gift or monthly, thank you. If you are interested in helping, please contact Bonnie Eriksmoen at deriksmoen@aol.com. Your donation is appreciated.

The next Book Club meeting will be on March 14th at a later time: 11:00 a.m. This new time works best for the group so this will be permanent. The book we will
discuss is The Red Tent by Anita Diamante. The narrator is
Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob and Leah. Dinah is briefly mentioned in
the book of Genesis. The story describes the traditions and turmoil of
womanhood in ancient times and has been a favorite novel of readers and book
groups for years. The author is an award-winning journalist who has
written several books on contemporary Jewish life. The group will be led
by Chris Durboraw who is a Vestry member and a well-read Book Club member
herself. Susan Robinson sporterrobinson@gmail.com
