The Life of Christ in Trinity’s Stained Glass Windows

February 18 – March 16, 2024

It is simply human to stop noticing what surrounds us all the time, no matter how beautiful and meaningful our environment happens to be. At Trinity Church we have been blessed with beautiful stained glass windows which surround our worship space. The windows depict the life of Jesus, beginning with the Annunciation in the first window on the south side of the nave, continuing through his youth, his ministry, a parable or two, the passion story, and concluding with the Resurrection and Ascension.

The windows contain details that many of us may have missed, since we usually pass the windows on our way to someplace else. We have the opportunity during the season of Lent this year to join Rev. George Chien (UMC, MCC) in studying the windows more closely, learning about the images that have been so familiar for so long. We will gather in the sanctuary at 11:30 on the Sundays of Lent beginning on Sunday, February 18, and George will share his insights about the artistry in the windows as well as the biblical and spiritual context of the images. Please plan to join us for this chance to enrich your Lenten practice.

Godly Play – March Gathering Dates

We will have class March 10 and March 17.

Our Godly Play class is experiencing The Greatest Parable: stories written by our gospel writers Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John with these beautifully illustrated drawings.

No class on March 3; March 24, Palm Sunday; or March 31, Easter

TRINITY GHIAA HOUSE MEETING

MARCH 10, 2024 – 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

As you may have seen from our eVoice and Sunday bulletins, Trinity Church is co-hosting a House Meeting with our GHIAA partner Grace Lutheran Church of Hartford at Trinity Church on March 10 at 2 pm. This is part of our work through the Greater Hartford Interfaith Action Alliance (GHIAA). During the House Meeting, we will break into small groups of people to share a personal story about an experience that concerns us. This House Meeting process is how GHIAA identifies the issues that are chosen for a social justice action campaign.

You can access the meeting by registering on GHIAA’s website using this link:

GHIAA House Meeting Registration 2024

docs.google.com

You will see Trinity Church listed as one of the member organizations hosting a House Meeting. Select that location and you will receive a confirmation.

Trinity and Grace Church have set a goal of having at least 40 attendees. This number was created to reach enough people to accurately understand the experiences and concerns of our members. This same process is happening with GHIAA organizations across Greater Hartford until April. Our stories will shape GHIAA’s next Issue Platform.

If you have any questions please reach out to or one of our core team who are listed below. You may select another house meeting session on the registration link if you are unable to attend in person on March 10 at Trinity.

There will be further announcements during the 10 AM service on March 10.

We look forward to seeing you at our first House Meeting!
