MixHaus Opening Reception for "disturbances" exhibit - MixHaus Gallery, 716 High Street, Comfort – email: cara@mixhausgallery.com
This exhibit coalesced around three artists’ perspectives of the interplay between humans and the environment of West Texas. Kari Englehardt’s botanical works of petroleum phytoremediators, Nate Cassie’s oilfield-glazed ceramics and the environmental sound collage of Parker Duke offer individual examinations of this sometimes-fraught relationship. The result is an exhibition of chance sensory beauty derived from the Permian Basin.
