Advocacy & Issues Forum for December

Last week we heard from Kathy Keena Dakota County Attorney and Joe Leko Dakota County Sheriff-Elect regarding their priority initiatives for 2023. They covered staffing challenges, the Fentanyl Crisis for Dakota County and the State, mental health assessments, juvenile involvement with crime and drugs, etc. How they have led mental health care changes in the jail with a new Integrative Health Unit. Attached are their presentation slides with interesting facts and stats.

2023 Dakota County Annual Legislative Reception

Young Professionals Get Together

Join the Young Professionals Network for an end-of-year gathering at Can Can Wonderland! There will be food, refreshments, cash bar, unlimited arcade games, and mini golf available! Come out and get to know other East Metro young professionals or bring a friend or colleague! The event is Wednesday, December 14, and is in conjunction with the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce.

Winter SKOLstice is Back

Viking Lakes has announced the return of “Winter SKOLstice,” more than 45 consecutive days of activation on the Eagan campus. Designed to give Minnesotans opportunities to get outside and enjoy the winter weather, activities for all ages and skill levels will occur daily beginning January 6 - February 19. New this year is the Minnesota Ice Maze, and returning activities include the Warming Haus Powered by Xfinity, Skate the Omni, USA Curling Experience, and Pond Hockey.
