State of the Airport MSP

The Chamber staff, Chamber Ambassadors, and invited guests attended the annual State of the Airport MSP event. Some interesting facts for 2022 about the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport: 31.2 million total passengers were in 2022 (19th busiest airport in North America); more than 310,000 aircraft operations; 16 commercial airlines providing direct service to 157 destinations; one of only three U.S. airports to earn the highest industry accreditation in accessibility. They were named Best Airport in North American six of the past seven years!

DCR Chamber Staff Update

Laura Roehl, who has led our partnership and sponsorship initiatives, will be leaving the DCR Chamber for another opportunity after two and one half years of service, effective Friday, September 29. She will be missed for her friendly, engaging personality and for the system improvements and energy that she brought to the DCR Chamber. Effective on Monday, all the DCR staff is ready to help you, just call or email. Specifically, you can reach out to Anna Schueler for DCR Financial matters, Becca Scholz for Events, and Jane Bachul for other help. Jon Althoff can be reached for DCR Membership or sponsorship questions.

Ambassadors Quarterly Meeting

Some of the Chamber Ambassadors met over lunch to review the Stop-In Member Project, learn about what is happening at the Chamber, and share what is new in their industry or company. Thanks to The Open Door for use of the great conference room.

Spectro Alloys Will Build a $71 Million Expansion

Spectro Alloys will build a $71 million expansion at its Rosemount campus to add new aluminum state-of-the-art recycling equipment. The investment will allow the leading Midwest-based aluminum recycler to expand its capabilities to sort and melt post-consumer scrap aluminum and cast it into various sheet and billet alloys.
