MOMS, MISSIONS, & CHURCH ELECTIONS

I am unashamedly a Mama's Boy! I am who I am today because of God's amazing grace, and my Mother's prayers. I know that you will want to join me in wishing all of our mothers a very happy and blessed special day this coming Mother's Day Sunday. At Midland Valley Community we will be celebrating all ladies this weekend with special recognition, gifts, and family photo opportunities.

Please be much in prayer this week as MVC will be sending 21 of our people on a Work & Witness Trip to Largs, Scotland. This will be a life changing experience as our team works and ministers in multiple locations around the Largs Nazarene Church which is pastored by our very own, Steve Fountain & Tasha Alison. Special thanks to Scott Looman, our NMI President, for leading this journey. We are blessed to include our District Superintendent and his wife, Pastor Sam & Candy Flores, who will be accompanying us to Scotland as well. Pray that many lives will be touched for the Kingdom's sake.

Thanks to all of our church members who voted in our church elections the past two weeks. I'm thankful for a congregation that prayerfully selects our leadership as we move forward into the most exciting days of Midland Valley Community's future, The results of the elections are posted in this week's update.

It is a joy to serve! This past Sunday marked my 5th Anniversary as your Lead Pastor here at Midland Valley Community. Tammy and I consider you the finest people this side of Heaven. Looking forward to all that God has in store for us as we continue to BLESS OUR COMMUNITY!

Care Giver's Support Group

Care Givers’ Support Group will meet this Sunday, May 12 @ 4:00pm in Room 313 of the FMC (please enter by the single door at the back corner of the building next to parking lot).  Meetings provide encouragement & some care-giving tips through give-and-take about our various experiences in giving care to someone (typically, long-term care).  Please share this monthly event with others in our community that might find it helpful.

New Found Faith Class

The New Found Faith Class will finish on Sunday, May 12th and take a summer break until September. Then a class on the Foundations of Faith, 13 lessons, will be taught by Denny Giddings. These lessons are for new believers, those who want to know about christianity, and those who want a review, to be able to establish a solid biblical foundation for the christian life. More will be announced in August. They meet in Room 213 Fireside Room.

Currently we are studying ‘The Life You Long For’ by Christy Nockels. Study is with videos, no homework but lots of discussion. Study the Bible with a very interactive and friendship building group.

Jesus' Girls

Hey ladies! Join us Monday nights from 6:30-8:00 at Midland Valley Community in room 316 of the FMC. We began a new study on April 29th, 2024 titled "Get Out of Your Head by JENNIE ALLEN." Are your thoughts holding you captive? Jennie Allen knows what it’s like to swirl in a spiral of destructive thoughts, such as I’ll never be good enough. Other people have better lives than I do. God couldn’t really love me. But Jennie also knows we don’t have to stay stuck in toxic thinking patterns. As she discovered, God built a way for us to escape that downward spiral. Freedom comes when we refuse to be victims to our thoughts and realize we have already been equipped with power from God to fight and win the war for our minds.

In Get Out of Your Head, Jennie takes groups on a study in Philippians, inspiring and equipping us to transform our emotions, our outlook, and even our circumstances by taking control of our thoughts. When we submit our minds to Christ, the promises and goodness of God flood our lives in remarkable ways. It starts in your head. And from there, the possibilities are endless.
