Each one of our problems is a God-appointed instructor ready to stretch you and challenge you and deepen your walk with Him. Growth and wisdom await you at the solution of each one, the pain and mess notwithstanding.

Green Tip for August!

I heard another story on NPR about catastrophic flooding driven by human- caused climate change, this time in Juneau, Alaska. Sadly, we know this type of flooding all to well. It got me thinking, what is the one thing I can do to slow climate change? What will have the greatest impact? Turns out it’s not that simple and in fact there’s a number of things I should be focused on:

1.     Save energy at home.

2.     Change your home’s source of energy.

3.     Walk, bike, or take public transport

4.     Switch to an electric vehicle.

5.     Consider your travel.

6.     Reduce, reuse, repair, and recycle.

7.     Eat more vegetables.

8.     Throw away less food.

9.     Plant native species.

10. Clean up your environment

11. Make your money count.

12. Speak up.

Each month we’ll examine an item to better understand how we can do our part. To learn more now, visit United Nations: Actions for a healthy planet.

Kenya Trip

Kenya Mission Trip!

Dear Karen and Team

Once again on behalf of the Nyalwodep members and my family we want to express our deepest gratitude for your visit to our project and home. It was quite humbling to host you in our humble home and project.

Thank you for the numerous gifts you brought to the children. The widows and caregivers were immeasurably touched by the gifts and financial boost.

Your coming has given the project a complete face-lift.

Water tank and chairs for all the 70 children are already secured. Even the Community is over excited. The tank is very safe where it's installed for nobody has access to it apart from the children through their teachers.

We have a plan that in the future we move the school to a new site so that it retains iits own identity and name. There is a plot we're buying from the County Council near the shopping centre there. We are paying through installments 50 dollars a month and we'll be done by April 2026. But even if if we can pay the remaining amount by June next year we'll just move there.

Advantage of the church compound is that we're exempted from tax and yearly plot rent by the country Council.

Blessings,

Pastor James Ouma .

Musical Selections

Thula Sizwe: African prayer - World Youth Choir 2007

The Choir Project shared this number by the World Youth Choir earlier this week. It's an infectious number well-sung by the choir.

Ben Nobuto - Hallelujah Sim.

Now here's something completely different! From the opening BBC Prom this year, here's a piece that must be a challenge for both orchestra and chorus. But this conductor makes it look like it's easy!! (An aside: the chorus members look too old to really have enjoyed this!)
