Step into a world of eco-consciousness with ISNA Green Initiative!

(formerly known as Green Masjid Task Force)

Our mission is crystal clear: to cultivate mosques and Islamic centers into environmentally friendly havens. Inspired by the teachings of Islam, we're committed to spreading awareness, promoting sustainable practices, and leading by example. Our "Green Ramadan" campaign is just the beginning, rallying communities nationwide to embrace eco-friendly habits. With resources like "The Green Masjid Project" at your fingertips, we empower change-makers to revitalize their spaces.

Alhamd-u-Lillah, for the past ten years, the ISNA Green Initiative Team has been encouraging

mosques, Islamic centers, schools, homes, and individuals to adopt environmentally friendly

practices. ISNA is offering $500, $300, and $200 awards to three mosques that exemplify the

best Green Ramadan to celebrate this tenth Green Ramadan Campaign. Fill out the form by clicking HERE or the link below.

The deadline to submit the form is April 30, 2024.

Check out the rubric as guidance for environmentally friendly practices by individuals and

communities. Download the Rubric at HERE. Use it during Ramadan and later. In recognition the Green Initiative Team, through the courtesy of Pen and Ink Pot Foundation, will again plant a tree on your behalf at a place needing trees. Your Islamic center or Masjid will also receive a certificate of achievement. After Ramadan ends, please email your contact information and details of your achievements.

As an extension to our summer camps, we will be having an all girls camp for the first time and we are so excited!!

Welcome to MYNA’s first-ever all girls camp, a unique and enriching experience designed to foster spiritual growth, personal development, and sisterhood in a supportive Islamic environment. At our camp, we provide a safe and nurturing space where Muslim girls can explore their faith, build confidence, and forge lasting friendships. Our camp offers a diverse range of activities and programs that cater to the holistic development of our campers. From Quranic studies and Islamic lectures to outdoor adventures and team-building exercises, there's something for every girl to engage in and enjoy.

Led by knowledgeable teachers, mentors and counselors who share a deep commitment to Islamic values, our programs are designed to inspire girls to connect with their faith, strengthen their character, and cultivate a sense of purpose and identity grounded in Islam. In addition to spiritual growth, our camp places a strong emphasis on personal development and leadership skills. Through workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities, campers learn essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making, that empower them to navigate the challenges of adolescence and beyond with confidence and resilience. Topics like body image, women’s role in Islam, mental health, nutrition, and more will also be explored.

Perhaps most importantly, our all girls camp fosters a sense of sisterhood and community among campers. Through shared prayers, meaningful conversations, and collaborative projects, girls form bonds that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries, creating a supportive network of friends who uplift and inspire one another. Whether it's learning about Islamic history, exploring the natural world, or simply sharing laughter and stories around the campfire, our all girls camp offers an empowering and unforgettable experience that leaves a lasting impact on the hearts and minds of our campers. ISRAA - Sisters Only Online Classes

ISRAA is back again for yet another amazing course for our sisters 12-18!

ISRAA 2024 Spring - Believing in the Unseen

Why choose ISRAA?

While many boys in our communities are hufadh of the Quran, have attended programs (some overseas) to study their deen, and are given numerous opportunities to learn and even teach about Islam, the same is not as common or as accessible to girls. With ISRAA, we embarked on a journey to bridge the gap of access to Islamic knowledge and female teachers for girls between ages 12 and 18. ISRAA was born out of that desire to have an ongoing program where girls are given the opportunity to learn more about their deen in a setting that is accessible and comfortable from teachers who understand their experiences. Through ISRAA, we hope to provide a means for personal and spiritual growth, and for connection to peers and scholars. Teaching this ISRAA Class this spring will be Ustadha Khadeeja Bari!

MYNA SUMMER CAMP 2024 IS LIVE!

Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah often.” (Quran, 33:21) Adab, rooted in Islamic tradition, embodies the refined behavior, etiquette, and virtues exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is the highest standard each and every Muslim aspires to live up to, and it is that same standard that hundreds of campers across the nation will aim to study and embody at one of MYNA’s summer camps this July.

In a deep dive into the theme, “Adab in Action,” campers will explore how the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) serves as a beacon of guidance and inspiration, illuminating the path towards embodying Adab in thought, speech, and action. In a world characterized by diversity and complexity, the timeless principles of Adab offer a universal framework for navigating interpersonal relationships, fostering empathy, and promoting social harmony. By embodying the virtues of Adab, campers will empower themselves to become agents of positive change within their communities, inspiring others through their exemplary conduct and ethical leadership, and leaving a lasting legacy of excellence for generations to come. Join us and embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and moral refinement.

Lunar Eclipse At ISNA HQ!

On April 8, 2024 the ISNA HQ was in line for full totality. Many Muslims came to view the eclipse and also pray. Below are photos captured but Arsal Kashif who drove from Illinois to view the eclipse. Here are his photos and message from him.

Assalam O alikum, My name is Arsal Kashif, I am a Kindi Academy alumni who is now attending 9th grade at Naperville Central. I consider myself an aspiring amateur astronomer and have always been fascinated with space. This year Allah blessed us with being able to observe one of the most magnificent and rare phenomenon. I was so happy and excited to find that there was such a beautiful and open ISNA in Plainfield, IN which was near the center of the eclipse path of totality. We left after suhoor with my father, brother and 3 friends and reached the center a couple of hours early. This gave us the opportunity to appreciate the size and architecture of the center. I felt blessed and thankful to Allah that we had such a place to bear witness one of Allah’s signs and had the luxury to safely offer Duhr and Eclipse prayers. I am glad we were able to meet and interact with people from the ISNA Plainfield community. I hope you enjoyed and were as awe struck by the totality as I was. Thank you for having us.
