Miftaah-MYNA Seminary is Back!

We are excited to announce MYNA is collaborating with Miftaah Institute again this summer to bring you new courses that you won’t want to miss! This semester’s courses will be taught online by Shaykh Tariq Musleh and Imam Ali Hofioni.

Join us virtually every Monday for 7 weeks from July 8th - August 14th. Small class sizes, weekly sessions, and live online learning!

Here are the two classes offered:

Prophetic Description (Sham'ail)

Imam al-Tirmidhi's Al-Shama’il al-Muhammadiyya contains 414 Hadith that together present a detailed description of the moral, physical and spiritual qualities of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.This course is designed to give you the following:

  • Deep knowledge of the character, behavior, and personal qualities of Allah's Messenger ﷺ.
  • Understanding of why knowledge of the character of the Prophet ﷺ is central for all areas of the religion.
  • Enriched appreciation for the world and the worldview of the Companions رضي الله عنهم and the Early Generations of Muslims.
  • Renewed and strengthened love for Allah's Messenger ﷺ, knowledge of him, and desire to see him in this life and the next.

Quran Exegesis (Juz Amma)

Like Introduction to Hadith, this course allows students to try their hand at applying the grammatical concepts learnt in other courses to analyze and interpret Islamic primary sources. The course methodically guides students through the last Juz’ of the Qur’an and gives students experience translating the uniquely dynamic and engaging style of the Qur’an’s Arabic into English. Along with simple translation, students will learn to recognize and appreciate the thematic coherence between verses and chapters, the deeper meanings of Arabic words, grammatical nuances, the historical context of the revelation of various ayahs, and Qur’anic commentary based on Hadith and the authoritative interpretations of the recognized exegesis of the first generations of Islam. Students are also encouraged to develop and discuss personal reflections on the Qur'anic text and lessons for their contemporary times.

MYNA Camp!

MYNA Summer Camp 2024 is LIVE!

Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah often.” (Quran, 33:21) Adab, rooted in Islamic tradition, embodies the refined behavior, etiquette, and virtues exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is the highest standard each and every Muslim aspires to live up to, and it is that same standard that hundreds of campers across the nation will aim to study and embody at one of MYNA’s summer camps this July.

In a deep dive into the theme, “Adab in Action,” campers will explore how the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) serves as a beacon of guidance and inspiration, illuminating the path towards embodying Adab in thought, speech, and action. In a world characterized by diversity and complexity, the timeless principles of Adab offer a universal framework for navigating interpersonal relationships, fostering empathy, and promoting social harmony. By embodying the virtues of Adab, campers will empower themselves to become agents of positive change within their communities, inspiring others through their exemplary conduct and ethical leadership, and leaving a lasting legacy of excellence for generations to come. Join us and embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and moral refinement.
