Toward Our Shared Future

THIS SUNDAY

This Sunday

This will be the final week of summer gatherings with our downtown sister churches. We will meet at Fort Massey (corner of Queen and Tobin Streets) at 10:30am. Rev. Shaun Fryday will be preaching from Ezra 3:10-13 and Acts 17:22-28. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

The following Sunday, September 8, we will return to worship at Saint Andrew's. Staff and volunteers have been busy organizing and fixing spaces at the church and we're excited to have the buzz of the busy fall months!

COMMUNITY NEWS

September 19: Guaranteed Livable Income Bill goes to a critical vote

Take a stand against poverty and help every family put food on their table!

On or around September 19th, Bill C-223 will go to a vote to determine whether it will be studied in a committee or if its progress through Parliament will end now. Sources tell us the vote is at risk of failing and that we need to raise our voices in support.

Please join us in contacting your member of Parliament and other key decision-makers on these vital issues. It is so important that they hear from us in large numbers! Please see Bringing faithful justice to the grill: MP chat sheets for more information and other priority topics, and don’t forget to let us know at  justice@united-church.ca  what action you take!

Sunday Suppers needs our help!

There has been a substantial increase in need. Sunday Suppers served 293 guests last week.

Sleeping bags, tents (new or clean and gently used) and larger backpacks (not school bags) are needed and may be dropped off to the church during office hours.

Thank you to our core Sunday Supper volunteers who have worked tirelessly to provide much-needed support!
