Ohio Voters Reject Proposed State Issue 1

LMM is happy to share that Issue 1 failed in the August 8 election by a margin of 57% to 43%.

Ohio voters rejected Issue 1, which would have required unnecessary and undemocratic supermajorities to pass citizen-initiated amendments and would have made the citizen amendment process more difficult. In rejecting Issue 1, Ohioans resoundingly stood up for democracy and their right as citizens to have a say in the amendment process.
