Computer Lab Volunteer Spotlight

Alyssa Gray is a Marketing Specialist with Moen Incorporated and a volunteer in the computer lab at Men's Shelter at 2100 Lakeside. Alyssa recently took the time to reflect on her experience volunteering with LMM with Men's Shelter Coordinator Lydia Bailey.

Alyssa reflects, “Growing up I always told myself when I got older I was going to do what I could to give back and help others get to where they want to go in life. On MLK Day, 2023, Moen allowed me the opportunity to volunteer at LMM Men’s Shelter. Even though I just spent time doing art with the men I enjoyed being able to talk to them, hear their stories, and learn their aspirations of moving on to the next chapter in their life. I knew then that I wanted to become a regular volunteer and do what I could to help! I am a new computer lab volunteer and watching some of the men spending time doing work for classes is inspiring. I feel blessed to be able to help in any way I can, even if that’s just to spend 3 hours sitting in the lab so that the men will have these opportunities."

Thank you to our amazing volunteers like Alyssa!

LMM Sponsors Table at Victim Rights and Mass Incarceration Forum

LMM recently had the opportunity to sponsor a table at the City Club of Cleveland's In Their Names: The Untold Story of Victims’ Rights, Mass Incarceration, and the Future of Public Safety forum, which featured speakers Lenore Anderson, Shakyra Diaz and Brenda Glass. The forum highlighted how state leaders and advocates can create effective public safety solutions that replace over-incarceration.
