Since 2014, LMM’s Workforce Development (WD) program has been providing vocational training, employment services, and social enterprises for community members who face barriers to the workplace.
Technical training educates participants in the culinary arts and hospitality fields, enabling them to earn credentials that validate their skills. Career Services offers academic advising, career counseling and coaching, and job placement assistance.
WD’s social enterprises, such as Metro45 Mobile Kitchen & Catering, are revenue-generating ventures that provide training and on-the-job experiences for program participants. The food truck also brings quality food and community education to food deserts across the city.
Overall, the WD program has been instrumental in empowering individuals in our community to build better futures for themselves and their families. As we celebrate National Workforce Development Month, please consider supporting the positive changes WD brings to our community.
