Hallowed Hike SATURDAY EVENING (6/8)!

June 8th, 2024 at 6:00PM

Juno Dunes Natural Area (East) map

Trail head at 14200 US Highway 1, Juno Beach, FL 33408-4518

This Hallowed Hike will take us along a unique natural feature of Palm Beach County — the east face of the Atlantic Coastal Ridge! It’s an easy loop with a gradual 29 foot incline. The entire paved section is about 1/4 mile to the eucharist location and is wheelchair and stroller friendly. The trail is partially shaded at the beginning and then gets sunny until the gazebo overlooking the scrub and palmetto with ocean views. After the eucharist there is an option to either return to the parking lot via the paved trail OR go off the beaten path on a sugar sand trail through a dense coastal canopy to beach. Expect to see wild grape, sea grape, wild coffee, butterflies, and an array of lizards. We may even see a tortoise!

Green Spirits

It's not too late to pledge for 2024. Your generosity is a reflection of your gratitude for God's gifts. We are all invited.

Time and time again in Scripture God’s work in the world is compared to a banquet—a feast—a celebration! And each one of us is invited. Good Shepherd has a table there, and we want you to join us! In these next few weeks we invite you to discern what your financial pledge will be to support our communal work in 2024. Exciting things are ahead and we welcome your participation!

You can pledge online at the link below, pick up a card at church or request a card be mailed to you. Give us a call! 561-746-4674.

Volunteers Needed!

As it happens every summer, many of our parishioners head north leaving several volunteer positions open. Consider helping in the Food Pantry on Tuesdays, or Pennies Thrift Shop this summer. Please contact Marilyn Lawrence to help at the Food Pantry, or call the church office. There are many behind-the-scenes jobs at Pennies, as well as in retail sales. Contact Beth Long for more information, 561-406-2923. Thank you for keeping us going during the summer months!

Update on St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, Fort Myers Beach, FL

Last year we started to help St. Raphael’s after the devastating effects of Hurricane Ian. The funds raised in 2023 and 2024 for rebuilding have been received and we invite you to read their letter of appreciation with an update on the progress of this recovering

church community.

Can you help us with Summer Sunday School?

It's the summer of Water Stories!

This summer there will be a one-room Sunday School program in the back classroom. Children ages 3 through rising 5th graders are welcome to attend. We will explore “water stories” of the Bible, learning about Moses, Noah,Jonah, Jesus and many others. We will create art masterpieces using various painting techniques. And we may even get our feet wet! Adult volunteers are also needed to help with this program – one Sunday or several! Contact Mary Lou Crifasi in the Church Office. (561-746-4674).

Home Communion

Home Communion is available for those unable to come to church. Please contact us so that we may arrange for a home visit.

Holy Eucharist and Healing is back in the chapel on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM. Join us for this intimate prayer service that features the names of people for whom prayer has been personally requested. If you are in need of prayer yourself, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience spiritual presence in a personal way. You are welcome!

Prayer Requests

There is now a Prayer Concern box in the Narthex on the sideboard. If you would like to make a prayer request, please fill in one of the cards beside the box and place it in the box. Your request will be added to our prayer list. Your requests will be offered at the altar during the Wednesday Holy Eucharist and Healing service and weekly during Morning Prayer. Unless otherwise requested, prayer requests will be removed from our prayer list after two months.

FORWARD DAY BY DAY DEVOTIONAL

Good News Daily is going on hiatus as we transition to a streamlined prayer list updating process.

What’s new?

• Forward Day By Day daily devotional is now on the Prayer page of our website. If you prefer the printed copy or large print copy, they are still available in the office.

To pray for individuals by name, the prayer list is now found on the Prayer page of our website. It is also printed in the announcement page of the Sunday bulletin AND available online where the bulletin is posted (Livestream Page).

If you would like a one-click shortcut set up on your phone, please see Merike Seely in the Narthex any Sunday for assistance.

We have a podcast for Sunday homilies.

Just the homily. On demand. Wherever podcasts are found.
