 Meditation is a self-care practice that allows us to quiet our minds, calm our physical bodies, and go within to reach a heightened level of awareness. This three-part class looks at the art, the history, the science, and the magic of meditation from three unique perspectives with three instructors. Join Rev. Diana, Rev. Story, and Rev. Renee as they lead you on a journey towards discovering the benefits and joys of meditation for yourself.

As spiritual beings how do we receive our psychic information? In what ways are we receiving messages, reading energy, and experiencing those things around us that we cannot physically hear, see, or touch?

And as human beings, how do we interact and understand those around us in the physical world? How do we begin to learn what we are receiving intuitively and what is the ‘junk’ that we have picked up from others?

This two-session class, led by Rev. Renee Ranke, will help us to understand how we are receiving our telepathic messages and in what ways we can 'energize' our psychic sensitivity.

 It is said that we all have psychic abilities, but how do we harness and expand them? In this 2-part class, with Psychic Medium, Diana Friedell, learn the safe way of opening the door to intuitive messages, meet personal spirit guides in meditation, and learn the 7 Spirit Guides of Theosophy. Through fun games & exercises, develop confidence and clarity in your intuitive answers, both for yourself, and for others.

Kimberly Winsor, RPP, LMT, teaches us the ins and outs, the do’s and don'ts of muscle testing- a technique used much like dowsing, using one's own body to cipher out truth for any given situation. Answers come in a yes/no format, so attention is paid to learning how to ask questions, with lots of fun practice. Attend on Zoom, or in person at the new Lotus Center.

Why, who makes much of a miracle?

As to me I know of nothing else but miracles,

Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,

Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,

Or wade with naked feet along the beach just in the edge of the water,

Or stand under trees in the woods,

Or talk by day with any one I love, or sleep in the bed at night with any one I love,

Or sit at table at dinner with the rest,

Or look at strangers opposite me riding in the car,

Or watch honey-bees busy around the hive of a summer forenoon,

Or animals feeding in the fields,

Or birds, or the wonderfulness of insects in the air,

Or the wonderfulness of the sundown, or of stars shining so quiet and bright,

Or the exquisite delicate thin curve of the new moon in spring;

These with the rest, one and all, are to me miracles,

The whole referring, yet each distinct and in its place.

To me every hour of the light and dark is a miracle,

Every cubic inch of space is a miracle,

Every square yard of the surface of the earth is spread with the same,

Every foot of the interior swarms with the same.

To me the sea is a continual miracle,

The fishes that swim—the rocks—the motion of the waves—the

    ships with men in them,

What stranger miracles are there?

ASTROLOGY FORECAST (Feb 2-9)

You will recall that many planets have been in Capricorn recently. It is an Earth sign, and in some cultures is called the Gate of the Gods. The belief is that it is the portal through which the deceased return to heaven and then cycle back again with the return of the Sun. I think we all feel the close proximity of the Heavenly forces. We can FEEL them draw near.

We have recently been encouraged to leave some things behind; habits, worldviews, sorrows, resentments, regrets, etc. There is one more interpretation that might bear our scrutiny. I have noticed a tendency in myself to almost "jump out of my skin" in my quest for Ascension. It is a reaching, striving, and straining feeling. I was gently reminded that we are to be the bridge, or conduit, element between Earth and the Cosmic realms. As I settled into my body and grounded into the Earth more, the energies and memory I was seeking came in more easily. All the planets in Capricorn recently served to remind me that we are in the physical, in the present. I was reminded of the value of proper grounding and receptivity.

Mercury, Mars, and Pluto remain in Capricorn. The Sun, Venus, and Saturn are in Air sign Aquarius. The New Moon in Aquarius has just passed. Mercury and Venus retrogrades have ended. For the remainder of February there are no planets in retrograde. That may feel very refreshing in that retrogrades have dominated the planetary orbits until now.

Aquarius symbolizes independence, broad vision, humanitarian ideals. There is also a healthy detachment present that can assist in releasing what no longer serves. The Aquarian placements, combined with a waxing Moon, signal an active time for building on your gifts and ideas. The Gaelic festival of Imbolc calls on celebrants to plant the seeds of those ideas. Spring approaches. This is the Spring of your Soul, independent of your chronological age!

Looking ahead for the month of February, there are a few themes worth mentioning now. Venus and Mars spend much of the month in conjunction to each other. We are working on balance between competing energies that actually work best when they achieve equilibrium. This can mean between Male and Female individuals or could refer to a blending of those expressions within the self. 

The other approaching alignment is the progression of the United States and Pluto. Pluto returns to its placement when the United States was born as a country at the end of February. This looms large. The opposing positions of our citizens has been painfully obvious for a while now. Do we continue? Is our society of value?

Pluto is transformational, although it can be destructive. Pluto shows us the shadows. It can help us move beyond blocks and limits if that is our choice. Whether it is a positive influence, assisting a restructuring, remains to be seen. We will revisit this Pluto return for the United States in the coming weeks.

One thing is sure. Every bit of progress we can make as individuals ripples out to integrate with the whole. I wish you Godspeed.
