THE HEART & SOUL OF KOL CHAVERIM
|
Chevra-
Kol Chaverim began in the Southwest Broward area of Cooper City, Davie, and Pembroke Pines nine years ago; offering affordable membership dues; where Rabbi Avi and Cantor Eric have served for over thirty-five years!" Weekly Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat Essentials morning services on Zoom enabling those who prefer to attend services in the comfort of their home, office, or, on the go!
Every Friday Kabbalat Shabbat, Saturday morning, all holidays, and High Holidays! Kol Chaverim members that prefer to be in a physical space are attending Temple Kol Ami-Emanuel; while giving others the opportunity to join Rabbi Avi and Cantor Eric on Zoom anywhere they happen to be. "Having the best of both worlds in person, on Zoom, a synagogue with a heart!"
Kol Chaverim was established nine years ago, giving our original community the option to stay with us or go out west. Having Rabbi here with us for 7 years coming this High Holiday 2024 has enabled us to stay together, while Cantor has been here since the beginning starting services in a Tax Office, moving to Cooper City Church of Gd, to the JCC, and, finally after Covid, we emerged into a new phase as a virtual synagogue.
| | |
|
We continue to provide services on Zoom or physically together to enhance the future of Kol Chaverim to continue to be a part of Jewish life in Central & SW Broward. It is equally important to have the ability to be in physical space where others can be together has always been our tradition. We are grateful to Temple Kol Ami Emanuel for the opportunity to be together with those that have chosen to explore their horizon.
Another strong belief to be a part of a greater whole in the community is to give back and serve those less fortunate! Kol Chaverim is proud to recognize our members for continuing to join us as we continue to thrive with a smaller community so that the Rabbi and Cantor can engage with those who choose to be in their virtual space together.
Our "little engine that could, would, and does," share charitable contributions throughout the year while we continue to Support and Stand With Israel; proudly support Friends of IDF, AGMDA, emergency fund, JNF, Lev Haolam, Leiket Israel, in addition to our local community organizations for the respective times of year and holidays .Our founding members who continue to support our efforts we cannot thank you enough Your membership provides these necessities as a synagogue!

ANNUAL LEGACY FUND FEE DUE.... | We have established a Legacy Fund in perpetuity for the future of Kol Chaverim. Currently we do not access these funds for operating expenses, Our goal is to build this fund to a minimum of $100,000. In order to do this we have asked members to support an annual fee of $500 for up to five years. It can be payable throughout the year on a monthly basis, we appreciate those that have been contributing consistently and ask those of you that are enjoying the intimate community to support this endeavor. Thank you in advance as we look forward to another year with all of you! With your generosity, Kol Chaverim continues to be able support charitable contributions throughout the year. This past year we were able to align with organizations that provided support for Israel, businesses that have been impacted since October 7 when Hamas, a terror organization attacked and invaded Israel, murdering, raping, and kidnapping hostages. Our efforts may be small, however, every bit helps and your annual Legacy Annual Donation allows us to continue to be able to support our community as well.

The Longest Day of the Year
On June 21st, we passed the longest day of the year. A day that is also a turning point. From here, the days will get shorter and the nights will get longer. But we are still stuck in the past. 266 days behind. Every day for us is October 7th, the longest day we have ever experienced.

YES to the Deal
Next month, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to address U.S.congress.
We don’t know what he is going to say - but we know he must speak about the hostages deal.
We know he needs to bring back 120 of our loved ones.
We know there is no better way to bring them home, than an agreement.
Say yes to the deal - Show your support

Since October 7, our Federation has done what it always does: lead emergency response efforts, unite our community in solidarity, and keep our organizations safe and secure.
As we address an increasing and troubling climate of intolerance and discrimination, we remain committed to providing unwavering support to the people of Israel during this most challenging time in our history.
Just hours after the initial attacks, the Jewish Federation of Broward County mobilized and opened its Israel Emergency Fund, a dedicated fundraising effort in partnership with the Jewish Federations of North America, that has raised more than $800 million for humanitarian relief and recovery efforts for impacted communities in Israel.
The Jewish Federation is proud to share the following report, which highlights the impact you made through your generosity and commitment to the Jewish homeland.

Congregation Kol Chaverim made donations recently on your behalf to, Friends IDF, Mogen David Adom, JNF USA, and, SW Center for the Study of Hospital & Health Care: Supporting Israel through Trauma Care. Hillel 954, Leget Israel for Purim. We consistently make local donations to JFS Cupboard on a quarterly basis corresponding with certain holidays. However, in receiving many options and opportunities that are offered during this compelling time it is important to our synagogue and community that we be able to continue to do so. You may make your charitable contribution directly through Congregation Kol Chaverim. Thank you for those that have contributed and we stand united as always in pursuit of peace and unity with Israel! "Am Y'srael Chai!" עם ישׂראל הי

With each passing day, tensions are rising in the north of Israel — with a major conflict with Hezbollah looking like a grim surety.
The Lebanon-based terror group has amassed more than 150,000 rockets and missiles for the sole purpose of attacking Israel, and has made serious threats that they will specifically target Israel’s electrical grid.
But you can help prepare the incredible medics of MDA to save lives following any attack. Make your donation today to ensure they have the training, equipment, facilities, and vehicles they need to save lives, no matter what happens. (Click here or button below): Make a donation today.
