Upcoming Presidential Preference Primary Election

Please keep the following dates in mind for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary Election:

• February 20, 2024: Voting registration deadline
• March 7, 2024: Vote-By-Mail Ballot request deadline
• March 9 through March 17, 2024: Early Voting period
• March 19, 2024: Election Day

Florida has closed primary elections so only voters who are registered Republicans will receive a ballot. Voters registered as Democrats, No Party Affiliation, or any Minor Political Party will NOT have candidates or referendums to vote for on March 19, 2024.

2024 Municipal Election Qualifying Period

Save the date: Our 2024 Municipal Election will be held on November 5, 2024. Voters will elect a mayor for a two-year term of office and two commissioners to each serve a four-year term of office.

The qualifying period to run for mayor or commissioner begins at 12 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024.

To qualify, candidates must be:

• Permanent residents of Wilton Manors for six months prior to qualifying for office
• Registered to vote
• Registered with the Florida Ethics Commission and have completed Form 6

Friends of the Wilton Manors Library's Book Fair This Weekend

The Friends of the Wilton Manors Library is hosting its annual Used Book Fair on February 10, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hagen Park Community Center (2020 Wilton Drive). You may just find your next favorite read.

Island City Summer Camp Registration Dates

Mark your calendar to sign up your kindergarten through fifth grade-aged child for our annual Island City Summer Camp. This 10-week summer camp returns on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning on June 17, 2024.

Programming will include field trips, special events, indoor and outdoor activities, sports, fitness, and more.

Registration for Wilton Manors residents and non-residents will be open on April 15, 2024.

Weekly program costs:

• Resident - $160 (first child) $140 (second child) 
• Non-Resident - $180 (first child) $160 (second child)

Broward County Animal Care's Free Three-Day Wellness Clinics

Caring for your furry friends can be expensive. Broward County Animal Care is hosting a free, three-day Wellness Clinic from February 9 through February 11, 2024, to provide basic pet care for your pets. An additional Wellness Clinic will be held from March 8 through March 10, 2024.

The February clinics will be held at the following locations:

• February 9, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Firefighters Union Building (11 NW 36th Ave., Lauderhill)
• February 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Park City Hall (1965 S. State Rd. 7, West Park)
• February 11, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mitchell Moore Park (901 NW 10th St., Pompano Beach)

Regular City Commission Meeting

February 13, 2024, at 7 p.m.

The upcoming City Commission Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall (2020 Wilton Drive).

If you are unable to attend and would like to submit a public comment, email it to publiccomment@wiltonmanors.com before the start of the meeting. Please include your name and address in the email. All comments submitted by email shall be, if read orally, three minutes or less. Public comments received by 6 p.m., before the start of the meeting, will be delivered to the Commission before the meeting and be part of the public record.
