Assalamu Alaikum
Dear Family & Friends of ICSC,
Join us this Sunday, Aug. 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., as we welcome reknowned civil rights activist,
Reverend Jesse Jackson to the Islamic Center for a candid discussion about scapegoating and racism in America.
In this program titled, "Charlottesville: Injustice Anywhere is Injustice Everywhere," we will hear from Rev. Jackson,
Zev Yaroslavsky, Joseph Moreno, Salam Al-Marayati, and other local activists advocating for marginalized communities.
This is a free event. Parking will be limited to the upper lot and street parking. Don't miss out on this conversation!
Later in the day, a group of us will be meeting at the Union Rescue Mission for our August Serve & Connect event. Every month we serve dinner to the men, women and children staying at the mission - preparing plates, serving the individuals, and cleaning the cafeteria/kitchen. This is a great way to meet community members while serving those in need of a little extra help. We will be there from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
RSVP today to secure your spot. Everyone 14 yrs + is welcome to attend.
We look forward to seeing you and your loved ones at the Islamic Center this weekend!
In peace,
Islamic Center of Southern California
