THE WEEKLY MISSIVE

JUNE 7, 2024

10th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

All are Welcome. Lover of Us All. All Who Hunger, Gather Gladly. Love is Love. A Place at the Table. Songs we, led by 30+ musicians, will sing/pray tonight at our All are Welcome Mass at 6:30, kicking off Pride Weekend spiritually and festively along with our friends in the Greater Boston LGBTQIA Catholic Collective.

These song titles embody what I have felt the Paulist Center strives to live since attending my first Mass here over 36 years ago. LGBTQIA and straight community members, staff and clergy ministering together to bring the loving, compassionate and welcoming embrace of God to every single one of God's wonderfully made, beloved people. Every. Single. One.

We know it's an effort to come in to the Center, but we would LOVE to see you both tonight and for weekend liturgy on Saturday or Sunday. Help us show our guests our Paulist Center hospitality. Festive reception to follow!

This weekend, June 8 & 9, we will have in-person Pastoral Council elections. On-line voting for members is available Jun 8-16. There is an in-person meeting of our Immigration Advocacy Group after the Sun 10am Mass and a zoom Creation Care Meeting this Mon, Jun 10, at 5pm. Join us!

More details on these events are below and in the bulletin, which also has many more items of interest and the most information on everything happening at the Center!

Please note that the live streamed Mass THIS weekend is at Sat, 5pm. We are very relieved to inform you that the technical issues have been resolved. Thank you for your patience. Next weekend the live stream Mass will return to Sun 10am.

Thanks for being here with us!

Patty, on behalf of the Paulist Center Staff

Rick, Patty, Susan, Norm, Gus, Alvaro, Dorothy, Sal, Barbara and Timmy

Upcoming Events & Notes

The most comprehensive listing of what's going on at the Paulist Center is in the bulletin. Check it out!

  • Pastoral Council elections are being held Jun 8-16. Thank you to Mares Beauvais, Bob Bordone and Deb Heimel for running. Candidate statements and in-person and on-line voting information here.

  • The Immigration Advocacy Group (IAG) is hosting an open meeting THIS Sun, Jun 9, after the 10am Mass in the 3rd floor Library. Hear the latest on our support for Haitian and Ukrainian refugees and become part of our community's response to welcome the stranger among us. Mary Skinner, Daria O'Connor and Chris O'Keeffe will speak on projects internal and external to the Paulist Center in which they are involved.

  • Young adults (ages 18-39), whether or not they are Catholic, are welcome to schedule a one-on-one conversation with our Young Adult Minister, Gus Kellerman. How can the Paulist Center Community accompany you on your faith journey?

  • We really need your help with our Marriage Preparation program! It is a great spiritual gift to 400-600 couples throughout the Archdiocese of Boston each year. Paulist Center couples who volunteer for this ministry find it very rewarding. It's also a major source of new members and outside income for our community. We can only sustain this important ministry if 10-15 couples can each help for 3 hours on 3 weekends per year. Are you and your partner interested in learning more about what would be involved? If so, contact Fr. Rick. Thanks!
