OUR FAVORITE SINS

"It's always our favorite sins - that do us in," (You & Tequila by Kenny Chesney) When we think of our favorite things, they're usually good things. Can we have favorite sins? Yes, try as we might, we do. What are our biggest temptations? And how can we stop giving in? Join Pastor Becky Nicol as she leads us in talking about sin.

A note from Pastor Lisa:

Words cannot express the height and depth and breadth of our gratitude for the wonderful worship and ministry celebration the church hosted for us this past Sunday! It was very humbling to be on the receiving end of the lovely music, buffet foods, cards, gifts, hugs and words and prayers offered for us. Your generosity and appreciation were just lovely. We have been so blessed by our 3 years of ministry here, and now so blessed by you in our parting. Thank you! We go forth with your love in our hearts, and with you in our prayers. If you are out our way, do look us up at First UMC, Redondo Beach, California!

The Early Bird Men's Fellowship group meets at 7 am in the back room of Colonial Cafe (1625 E. Main St. in St. Charles) for coffee and discussion. At 8 am optional breakfast is ordered and casual conversation continues until folks are ready to leave.

Adult Bible Study meets Sundays after worship at 10:30 am in the parlor.

Join our support group for persons with loved ones experiencing memory loss issues. We will be gathering in the Parlor next Monday, June 19 at 10 am. We are not experts on all aspects of memory loss illnesses, but we have become pretty good at "caring for the caregiver." If you or anyone you know is a caregiver of this type, please join us. For additional information, call Linda Tamlyn at (630)-406-6907.

Summer Hymn Requests are back!

Help Wanted

The new A/V booth has been constructed and we are waiting on the wiring and the equipment to be installed in July! We are looking for several people that are interested in helping with the A/V during our Sunday service each week. To begin, tasks will be related to helping with the graphic/text-based content during worship but can expand based on interest and training. We would need about 90 minutes of your time on the designated Sunday you volunteer. Volunteer would also periodically participate in planning meetings.

The training date with Amplio Systems is tentatively scheduled for July 29, and more details will follow.

Contact Carolyn Burnham carolyn@genevaumc.org or 630-232-7120.
