As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closure, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

REMINDER: Beginning Friday, Feb. 2 at 1 a.m. and continuing through Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 5 a.m., the Route 17 James River Bridge (JRB) will be closed while contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) perform critical maintenance work. During the full extended closure, a signed detour will be in place to direct motorists to the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel (MMMBT) as one of the primary alternate travel routes. Additional alternate routes include the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry and Route 460.

• Multiple stoppages on Mallory Street on-ramp to I-64 east from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Each stoppage may last up to 20 minutes.

• Single lane closure on I-64 west at Mallory Street from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Tuesday, January 30 to Wednesday, January 31

• Single lane closure on I-64 west at Mallory Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Single lane closure on I-64 east/west at Willoughby Bridge from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
• Single lane closure on I-64 west from Granby Street to Patrol Road from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through the construction zone.
