As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closure, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

REMINDERBeginning Friday, Feb. 2 at 1 a.m. and continuing through Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 5 a.m., the Route 17 James River Bridge (JRB) will be closed while contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) perform critical maintenance work. During the full extended closure, a signed detour will be in place to direct motorists to the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel (MMMBT) as one of the primary alternate travel routes. Additional alternate routes include the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry and Route 460.

NOTE: Check the project webpage often for the latest updates to the weekly lane closures.
