Picnic and Nature Walk: On Sunday, June 23 we will gather at Paradise Creek Nature Park (1141 Victory Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23702) at 1:00 pm for a picnic and nature walk. Pack a lunch, or stop and grab food, and we’ll gather at the picnic tables to have a meal. Afterwards, we will explore the handicap accessible trails and wetlands of this beautiful park. Free to attend – bring your own lunch. (This event is contingent upon the weather.)
Support the VBS Giving Tree this June: Many materials are needed to put on VBS each summer for our children. Get involved by donating an item or several from our “Giving Tree for VBS” which is located on the bulletin board outside of White Hall. Visit the tree and take the items off that you wish to donate by Wednesday, June 19. Please leave a note on our VBS table in White Hall of when you will bring the items to the church. When bringing in your donations, place them on the table in White Hall or in the fridge/freezer marked VBS supplies. Thank you for your support of this effort! Questions, reach out to Harper Bathel.
Summer Choir is underway! If you are interested in choir, but unsure of the commitment, Summer Choir is a great way to try it out! All that is needed is to show up on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. to run through the service. For more information, contact Stephen Leist

We are in need of coffee hour hosts for July and August! A simple baked good and some fruit, plus a soft beverage like lemonade is all it takes. The church provides the coffee. You can sign up on the sheet outside of White Hall or online. Thank you!
ForKids is Sending Kids to Chanco! It's summer camp season and many of the kids receiving services from ForKids are headed off to Camp Chanco soon! If you would like to help pack their duffle bags, head over to the Summer Camp Amazon wish list now! Your donations will ensure the kids have no worries about camp by arriving with everything they need! Deadline for donations is Tuesday, June 18th! *Note: this is not a St. Andrew's project, but we love ForKids and we love Camp Chanco!
Attention all Lovers of Books: During the month of June, all books in the rack in White Hall and in the bookcases in the Church Mouse will be on sale for $1 (regardless of size). We have some great novels and mysteries plus an extensive collection of faith-based books. Like biographies and history? We have those, too. And for you cooks who still like to read a cookbook, we have a great collection of them. Summer is coming - you know you need something to read.
Down-sizing? Planning to move? Or just cleaning out your overloaded bedroom closet? The Church Mouse is always in need of gently used, like-new items to stock their gift shop. We take lots of different things so we've made up a list which is available on the table outside of White Hall as well as in the Church Mouse. Look for a flyer called How You Can Help Others Through the Church Mouse. You can bring items in during the week and leave them outside of the office. Or you can bring items in on Sunday and bring them into the Gift Shop.
Every St. Andrew’s college student is eligible for a Ridley Scholarship through the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia. It’s need-based, but everyone who files an application properly and who has a 2.5 GPA or better gets an award. But don’t delay! The deadline to apply for the fall semester is June 20. Go to www.diosova.org for more information.

Did you know that for every $1 donated, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia can provide two meals for those in need? Giving to foodbanks tends to drop off in the summer when the need is greatest! During June and July, we'll be collecting money toward our goal of $3,000! So far we have raised $770 and any amount is appreciated! The easiest way to contribute is to do so through our giving portal on JustGiving.com.

Our Children’s Chapel kids will enjoy a Matthew 25 Summer of Mission this year through a $2,000 grant from the Matthew 25 fund in our budget!. We had such a positive experience last summer exploring our Matthew 25 windows found in our Nave and completing several projects that care for our neighbors: Mission of the Holy Spirit, GAM, Laundry Love, and CHKD. This year, our lessons will focus on the Be Attitudes and we will continue with our Matthew 25 Mission work spending at least eight Sundays over the summer completing mission projects. Our VBS kids will be joining in this initiative in the last week of June.
Children’s Chapel at 10:15 a.m. in Auditorium: (ages 4- 10) Kids are invited to gather for a simple kid friendly offering which will explore our worship service. This week our kids will focus on the story of The Beatitudes. When you arrive, come to the Auditorium. Children will be brought back to their families in church after the Peace.
Our Nursery is open from 10 a.m. until after our 10:15 a.m. worship in our Children’s Center. Children (infants to age 4) are invited to participate. Your child’s time will include play inside and out, a bible story, prayer, coloring, and a simple snack.
