Back to School Sunday is August 18 -- Come Celebrate Blessing of the Backpacks! With schools resuming now in mid to late August, we will be celebrating with those who are preparing to go back to school (a little earlier). Mark your calendars, as we gather for our special worship on Sunday, August 18. We are excited to celebrate the new school year with our families and friends! Bring your backpack, mobile device, or another favorite school item to be blessed during this annual tradition at either our 8:00 a.m. or 10:15 a.m. worship. After our 10:15 worship, join us at Coffee (and juice) Hour in White Hall. Children, teens, college/graduate students, and teachers/professors are all invited to participate.
Join us on Wednesday, August 14 at 6 pm to celebrate the Vigil of the Feast of St. Mary the Virgin. We will gather at the Lady Altar (the small altar on the right side of the church) to keep the feast of Mary of Nazareth, the mother of Jesus. This will be a simple yet beautiful Holy Eucharist to commemorate the saint that the Eastern Church calls the Theotokos or the God-bearer. Christians throughout the world have found comfort, inspiration, and peace in remembering the faithfulness, boldness, and courage of Mary. You are encouraged to bring flowers from your yard (or your neighbor’s if you don’t get caught!) to place as a devotion.
Summer Choir is off for the next two Sundays!

LAST WEEK for ForKids Back to School Supply Drive
We are collecting school supplies to support families served by ForKids. Items needed this year include: backpacks, insulated lunchbags, scissors, binders, paper, dry erase markers, crayons, tissues and loose leaf paper. A complete list is available on the table in the Narthex and in White Hall. You can also use their Amazon wishlist and have items sent directly to ForKids. We’ll be collecting items through Tuesday, Aug 6. Place donations in the red wagon in the Narthex, or outside the parish office.
We need vendors for our Holiday Market Bazaar. The Women of St. Andrew's are looking for individuals who might want to be a vendor of products or exhibitor of crafts at the Holiday Market Bazaar being held on October 19th from 9:00 to 2:00. We have a couple of spaces still available. If you are interested, contact Deane Sobol or the church office.
Another way you can help our bazaar. If you have any gift cards that you know you will not use and which are not dated, consider donating it to the WSA to be used in our bazaar raffle this year. Or, as an alternative, donate a $5 gift card to places like Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, Dollar Tree - anywhere $5 will buy an item. Help make our raffle an even bigger success than it was last year! Donated cards may be put in an envelope with WSA written on the front. Place the envelope in the WSA mailbox or leave it with the admin office. Thank you.
