RE Mission
Our religious education program works
to create an accepting environment that empowers children and youth to explore their spirituality, celebrate diversity, and live our Unitarian Universalist values.
|
|
Family Ministry
We believe that families play a vital role in furthering this empowerment to explore and live our UU values. We are excited to support our families by offering ideas from the UUA's Tapestry of Faith program as well as graces and thought provoking questions related to the topics introduced during Sunday religious education classes. We hope you find this new initiative enjoyable and spiritually fulfilling for your whole family.

Our children will
hear the story "Hide and Seek with God", continue exploring the importance of strengthening community and working cooperatively with other people, finalize a project, contemplate lessons learned and make plans for next year.
Check out the church website and our Facebook page for details.

For the Week of May 6, 2018

A Table Grace:
We give thanks for our children,
may we continue to be blessed by their simpler wonder
so that we might not take for granted one single moment
of this miracle to which we've been born.
~ Steve Myrvang

Chalice Lighting:
For centuries people have told stories, celebrated life and approached the ultimate while gathered around a fire.
We light this chalice
that the hearth fire of our hearts may be rekindled,
that our stories may be retold,
that we might celebrate life anew, and
that we might approach what is of ultimate value.
~ Denise D. Tracy

Please consider
utilizing these ideas to deepen and inspire your faith during the week.
Contemplation Topic - During a shared meal with family or friends or as part of a contemplative practice, ponder the question - In what ways do you or your family work cooperatively, and brainstorm some ways that you could be more cooperative.
No Time for Casual Faith - Click here to read an interview with your new UUA president, Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray. Inspired by our Larger Faith Community -
On April 16th, 2018, 10-year-old Unitarian Universalist, Levi Draheim, a Juliana v US plaintiff and recipient of UUMFE's Guardian of the Future Award --- along with seven other youth plaintiffs --- filed a constitutional climate lawsuit against his home state of Florida. There are now youth climate lawsuits pending in 9 US states and some form of legal action has taken place in all 50 US states, with support from the organization Our Children's Trust. And don't forget -- the Juliana v US trial will begin on October 29th, in Eugene, OR!
