ACCESS WORSHIP

Join us for worship Sundays at 8:15 a.m. (Traditional) and at 9:30 a.m. (Praise Band Worship) which is also always livestreamed on our Facebook page and available on our YouTube page any time after, not just when we're live. Our most recent worship services are also posted to our website on Monday mornings and are featured in the weekly newsletters on Wednesdays. Masks are optional but encouraged if people want to wear them.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WELCOME TEAM

We always encourage and appreciate volunteers for the Welcome Team to help out with parts of the worship service, such as greeter, welcome table, usher, tellers, coffee server and Communion helpers.

Once you've signed up to give electronically, please let the office know if you no longer need offering envelopes and we can have those discontinued for you. ADULT FAITH FORMATION

Join us tonight for free dinner of soup, salad and dessert at 5:30pm and then a wonderful conversation of faith at 6:30pm. All are welcome! We will be watching and studying the popular series “The Chosen” based on the life of Christ. This will be a great way of deepening our understanding of the good news of Easter! If you would like to purchase the book (highly recommended but not necessary), click here for the link to do so. We hope you’ll come and join us!

WEEKLY PRAYER TEAM

Starting on Saturday, May 6 from 7 to 8 am, please join us in prayer as we each spend some personal time with God (reading, quiet time in a relaxed state, listening to music, moving around in a peaceful state, etc.- however you personally connect with God) . At 7:30 we come together to pray for churches, pastors, community partners, and for the needs and special purpose God has for each person in the church both present and future. Please come any Saturday this may work for you!

BAND RETREAT

The spiritual health of volunteers is of great importance around here, so Pastor Heather and Ronna Trapanese have planned a wonderful day away for those who lead the music ministry of the second service. Please be in prayer with them as they head to Durward’s Glen Retreat Center on Saturday May 6.

SYNOD ASSEMBLY

The South Central Synod of Wisconsin of the ELCA meets in assembly once a year to do important work of the Church. This year it will be held on Saturday May 20 at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Horeb. Our voting members will be Pastor Heather, Jessica, and Tom and Ginny Olson. Watch for news after that date!

Children & Youth Ministry

Sunday Morning New Life Kids

Join us during the 9:30 a.m. service for a children’s message and craft.

MISSION TRIP 2023 - Sarasota, FL

There is a Mission Trip Meeting Sunday, May 7th during Youth Faith Formation from 10:45 - 11:45am. Lunch will be provided!

There are a few more spots left! Registration can be completed here and the $100 deposits can be made by check or online. We are asking that the remaining be paid by April 30th.

Monday, August 14– Thurs., August 17 9am – 12pm

Preschool – 5^th grade kids will have a great week with their crew moving through the stations!
Middle & High School youth are invited to help lead groups or stations. Stations include music, drama, crafts, and games.

Do you have questions about volunteering for VBS? On Wednesday, May 3 we will have an information conversation during dinner from 5:30 - 6:30pm. Let Jessica know if you will be there!

Middle Schoolers - Let's go back to Pine Lake!

Sunday, June 11^th – Friday, June 16^th

New Life middle school youth are invited for a week camp experience at Pine Lake Camp in Waupaca! We will experience all of the classics camp has to offer like cabins, games, swimming, nature activities, campfires, new friends, cabin leaders, engaging Bible studies and worship. The trip is open to all New Life youth who are currently in grades 6^th – 8^th. Friends and family who are not community partners are welcome to join us as well!

The trip costs $200 per person. If the cost of the trip is a concern for any families, please talk to Pastor Heather or Jessica. We will work to help you financially so that your child can go on the trip.

Affirmation of Baptism & Graduation Recognition - Sunday, May 21st

On Sunday, May 21st we will be celebrating with seniors who are graduating from High School and Affirming their faith.

If you are interested or want more information on any of the activities, feel free to reach out to Jessica Korrison.

COMMUNITY

SOCIAL PURPOSE FUND

Throughout the pandemic, we have been able to help so many families in the community because of this fund. By the end of 2022, we have distributed close to $12,000 in much-needed gift cards. Please know that if you are experiencing any financial need (rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, medical, unemployment/furlough, etc.) you only need to let Pastor Heather know. This information will be kept confidential to her and our financial officers (treasurer and bookkeeper).

Also, because of these increased needs, if you would be able to give to this fund, please submit checks with "Social Purpose Fund" in the memo or give online to that fund.

FIRST SUNDAY BREAKFAST

New Life Church loves to be hospitable! And one of the ways we do that is by offering food to those who come through our doors. If you would like to help provide our 1st Sunday breakfast on May 7th, please sign up by the kitchen window! Thank you in advance!

SPRING CLEAN UP DAY!

Come help beautify our space on Saturday May 20 after Men’s Group from 9:00am-noon. We will be cleaning up spaces outside as well as inside – please dress for the weather, bring gloves and any equipment that might be helpful (shovels, trimmers, rakes, etc.). If you have any questions please contact Joe Milanese or Judy Goke. Thank you for helping care for our beautiful space!

SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE

In our community, too many kids sleep on couches, blankets, with parents and even on floors. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering bunk beds to these families. The Madison Chapter needs help: if you have strong computer skills, compassion for others, and/or a love of working with wood this is for you! The urgent need is for someone to send emails, release of liability forms, etc. to volunteers. They also need a Build Manager to order and keep track of lumber. Feel free to contact the Church Office or Judy Goke if you can help. If you are interested in participating in a 2-hour build, watch for upcoming dates announcements. But we will also be collecting Sheets & Pillows until the end of April! Please bring sets of plain colored (NO WHITE) twin bed sheets and standard size pillows to New Life. There will be a box in the entry way for these donations. The last day to donate will be this Sunday, April 30th. For more information, please check out SHP’s website HERE
