BoSL Nominating Team Report

The Nominating Team (Richard Brown, Craig Mosford, Amy Poe, Jennifer Thomas, Jon Straw (Chair), and Pastor Michael (ex officio) is pleased to report the nomination of two persons for the Board of Servant Leaders: David Leege and Mark Rumohr. The Congregation will vote on these two nominees at the Voters Meeting on June 9. More information about the nominees will be published in the next two issues of the Communicator.

David Leege and his family have been members of PoP for over a decade. During that time, he has served in many different roles, including: as lay liturgist, primarily at the 8:00 a.m. service; working with the worship ministry team; working closely with PoP's Outreach efforts; and playing trumpet in the PoP Orchestra. He is a lifelong member of churches of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and in previous churches, he has served in additional roles, including: leading adult bible studies; teaching Sunday school and vacation bible school; singing in choir; and serving on various church boards including the Board of Servant Leaders at a previous congregation. David has actively been involved with Lutheran Hour Ministries and is currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees for The Lutheran Hour Ministries Foundation. He lives in Alexandria with his wife Deb and their son Noah.

Mark Rumohr and his wife Nina have been members of PoP since 2005, upon their return from the Netherlands. During that time, he has served in many different roles, including: as usher for the Saturday evening service, volunteering with the hypothermia shelter, and significantly with the ESL program as an instructor for over a decade and principal coordinator for the past three years. After a break during 2020, Mark and his all-volunteer team restarted a daytime ESL program in the Fall of 2021, with six teachers for 52 registered adult students from 22 different countries of origin. They have sustained that level continuously since then. Mark has also served on the Board of Directors for Northern Virginia’s ESL & Immigrant Ministries since 2022. Mark and Nina have four children and three grandchildren.

The Board of Servant Leaders invites you to our annual Voters' Assembly on June 9, at 4pm in the Sanctuary. Childcare will be available. Voting will take place for the annual budget and BoSL members. You must be a confirmed member to vote. Please let us know if you have any questions by responding to this email or email BoSL@poplc.org.
