"What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness."
—John Steinbeck
WE'RE PLANNING FOR NEXT YEAR, BUT WE NEED YOUR THOUGHTS
YOUR FEEDBACK WILL HELP TAKE OUR PROGRAMMING to the next level. Give input into next year's event topics, times and type as well as our communications and other services. This is a great opportunity to come to us with suggestions for how we can better serve your district, or to let us know how we're doing overall.
STATE APPLICATIONS FOR ESSER FUNDS ARE FOCUSED ON THINGS LIKE MENTAL HEALTH
THIS PART OF THE FEDERAL ARP FUNDING requires states to detail how they would support economically disadvantaged students, English-language learners, and others. Some state plans are explicit as to whether or not remote-learning options will continue in the fall and others have put a big emphasis on mental health and professional development for teachers. The only thing this EdWeek article mentions about NYS is just that money will be used to expand facilities for charter schools... clearly public ed advocacy work is never done.
TECHNOLOGY VS IN-CLASSROOM LEARNING FOR FALL
MOST EDUCATORS ARE STEPPING ON THE gas to get all children back in seats in school buildings. With children not yet vaccinated however, some families may not be ready to take that step. Stakeholder groups have differing opinions as to whether a remote option should continue to be mandated next year.
