JUDGE GETS DOSE OF COLD WATER AS SCHOOLS PREVAIL IN CLAIMING INSUFFICIENT FUNDING
IN THIS CASE OF EIGHT SMALL CITY SCHOOL districts, the court found that the state provided insufficient resources for adequate academic intervention services (AIS) for students struggling academically, language services for students learning English, as well as social workers and guidance counselors, all necessary for a sound basic education. The information presented is from the plaintiff's point of view, but does include a history of the case, and as our own Mt. Vernon City SD is one of the districts, it's worth reading.

In addition, more frank conversation about mental health has made it easier for these students to reach out for help in the future.
