As you know, we are in the midst of stewardship season here at Christ Church. Thanks to those of you who have already submitted your pledge! Pledge cards have been mailed out and are also available in the tower, parish hall and office here at Christ Church. Your pledges play a vital role in the life and ministry of Christ Church. If you are pledging we would be most appreciative if you could turn in your pledge cards by November 1 for budget planning purposes-thanks so much! |

Flower Guild - vases needed
|
Each week our Flower Guild visits and delivers flowers to shut-ins, or members who are sick or in the hospital. The flowers they deliver are from our Sunday Altar arrangement.
The Flower Guild needs some medium size vases (no bud vases).
If you would like to donate some medium size vases to the Flower Guild, they can be dropped off at the church office, or brought to church on Sunday morning and placed on the counter in the kitchen. Thank you for your support of this important ministry. |
Planning Page for 2017 DR Trip
|
A webpage with planning information about our 2017 Dominican Republic mission team is now available at the link below. We are thinking about making a major change in our flights. Rather than flying from Orlando on JetBlue, there is a possibility that we might fly from Valdosta to Atlanta and then on to Santo Domingo. Details are in the flight section on the planning page. No decision has been made yet, and do not purchase flight tickets now. More detailed information will be available by November 1.
The deadline to join the 2017 "Go Team" is December 1, 2016. If you are interested in applying, contact Julia or Julius Ariail at juliacariail@gmail.com.

DR Supper and Auction Event |
February 23, 2017 - Save the Date! |
We will hold our annual dinner and auction for the Dominican Republic mission trip on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Cotton Corner in downtown Valdosta. This is our major fundraiser for the scholarships we donate to the Episcopal school in El Pedregal (70 in 2015 and 2016!) and for the expenses of our work projects in that village. For more information, contact Julia Ariail at juliacariail@gmail.com.

Dear Christ Church Family,
Thank you for the beautiful altar flowers that Ann brought to our home after the death of Jerry's precious sister, Emily.
Emily was a bright shining star in our family and her light reflected from our Lord Jesus Christ. She is with HIM now.
Our church family has always been with us in our sad and joyful times. We are so blessed by you and by God's love.
Many thanks with love,
Judy and Jerry DeMott

Can you help the Haven? The women are in need of toiletries and personal items like toothpaste, soaps, lotions, brushes & combs, etc., both regular and travel size.
There is a basket for the Haven collection in the Parish Hall.
Thank you for your help in supporting this Ministry.
