Father Dave on Continuing Ed Trip
Thursday, June 30 - Thursday, July 13, 2017
Father Dave will be out of the office until July 13th.  Dave has taken a trip out West for his two weeks of Continuing Ed.  Please pray for him and his family during his travels.
Church Renovation Begun
The Sanctuary Renovation has begun.  The renovations will include new flooring, new "cathedral red" carpet in the tower and chancel, newly painted walls and ceiling, new light fixtures in annex to replace the fluorescent lights, and other cosmetic details.

During the renovation work all weekly services-including Sunday morning 8:00 and 10:00 services and Sunday evening 6:00 vespers, Wednesday evening 6:00 service, and Thursday morning 7:00 service-will be held at their usual times in the Parish Hall.

We are asking all members and visitors to enter the Parish Hall via the south side entrance for services (breezeway doors closest to the Gabard building).

We bid your prayers and patience during this renovation work, we thank you for your generous support of Christ Church, and we look forward to worshipping soon with you in our renovated sanctuary.
Soup Kitchen Help Needed
Tuesday, July 4th
For the third year Christ Church is preparing bag lunches for 200 people who depend on the Soup Kitchen for meals.

T his year our day is Tuesday, July 4.  We are finished with everything by 1:00 pm, so you'll have time to enjoy July 4 festivities with your family.

We need contributions to purchase food and supplies, sandwich makers and lunch packers on the morning - 9:30 until 11:00 - volunteers to distribute the meals at the Soup Kitchen, volunteers to bake the turkey breasts the weekend before.

If you can help with any of these, please contact Sandra Fletcher,  or 244-5033.

If you would like to make a monetary contribution for this ministry, please send your checks to Christ Church with a notation that it is for the Soup Kitchen lunch.

Thank you so much for your support of this important ministry.
Stitchers of Love
Sunday, July 16, 2017 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Stitchers of Love will take a short break due to Father's Day, and the weekend before the 4th of July.  We will take up our group needles again on Sunday, July 16, 2017 in the Parish Hall from 4-6 p.m.  Bring your projects and a friend.  You do not need to know how to knit or crochet, we have plenty of teachers.
Lunch Bunch Needs Volunteers
Expanding this Fall
We are expanding our lunch bunch ministry. Lunch Bunch is a great ministry that feeds children in our community every 1st and 3rd Saturday. This fall we would like to expand the ministry to every Saturday. This means we need volunteers! We will have six teams available and you may sign up for a team and volunteer one Saturday every six weeks. Please see Philip Ryan, Pepi Nelson, or Sandy Sandbach for questions or to sign up.
DR Team: ¡Gracias! Thank You!
And last call for scholarship donations
The Go Team thanks everyone on the Home Team for all of the support for the 2017 mission trip to the Dominican Republic! We have created a one-page collage of photographs from the trip as a way to express our thanks. You can check out this collage here.

This is the last call for scholarship donations for students at the K-8 Episcopal school in El Pedregal that we have been supporting for many years. Each scholarship costs US$350. On the 2017 trip, one of our missioners encountered a ten-year-old child at church who could not read because his parents did not enroll him in any school. He was sitting beside two others who attended the Episcopal school. They tried to help him with the prayer book, but he clearly felt left out. Because of your help, village children have a convenient school where they learn to read, receive a quality education, and advance to the public high school in the nearby city of Jarabacoa. Thank you for your support!

If you have already donated, thank you! If you would like to donate, please place your check made out to Christ Episcopal Church and annotated "DR Mission Scholarship" in the collection plate on Sunday, July 2.
Episcopal College Fellowship
Do you have a heart for hospitality? Do you enjoy cooking? Would you like to help serve our college students? The fall semester is almost here and we are looking for volunteers to prepare meals for our Thursday family dinners. Also, we are looking for a family to open there home once a month for lunch on Sunday's after Sunday School. If you want to sign up, please see Philip Ryan during coffee hour.
