The Children will have a Movie Night in the Gabard Building on the night of December 15th during the Rectory's Open House. The movie will be Polar Express.

Children's Christmas Party will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. on December 16th to fellowship, and prepare for the Christmas Pageant. Children's Christmas Pageant will be held during the 10:00 worship service on Sunday, December 17th.

On December 16 at 8:30 AM the Lunch Bunch will be wrapping Christmas presents for presentation to our children with their lunches at Ora Lee West (OLW) and Hudson Dockett (HD). After the 150 presents are wrapped, lunches will be made and packed, and then lunches and presents transported to OLW and HD and given out. We need help please.
Starting at 8:30 (but come when you can) in the Gabard Building. Lunch preparation at 11:00 am in the church kitchen. Delivery at noon.

Father Dave's new book of sermons, God's Embrace of Grace, is on sale at Christ Church for $10 each, with 100% of the proceeds going toward the Christ Church missions and outreach.

| DR 2018: Signing Up Missioners |
|
It's time to start signing up missioners for the 2018 team. The dates are June 23-30, and the location will be the Episcopal Campamento in the village of El Pedregal in the Dominican Republic, our traditional mission field. We would like to have the team formed by December 31, 2017, so we can proceed to plan our projects and make a budget for their costs.
The overall cost of the 2017 trip was $1,600, including the Valdosta - Santo Domingo flights and the in-country room and board, transportation, and projects costs. The costs for those flying from and back to Atlanta were less. We intend for the 2018 cost to be in this general range, although we have noticed a significant increase in the Valdosta - Santo Domingo flight costs for our June flight dates. If these hold, we might have to scale back our project costs or increase the overall costs slightly. The potential projects are listed on the 2018 planning page here.
If you are interested in joining the 2018 team, contact Julius Ariail by email or phone [(229) 563-0209, julius.ariail@gmail.com] and let him know that you would like to join. Then send a deposit check of $100 by
December 31 to the DR Mission Fund at Christ Episcopal Church, 1521 N. Patterson Street, Valdosta GA 31602. The team will be limited to 18 missioners, and the final list of projects will depend on the talents and interests of those 18 people.

Gary and I would like to say thank you to our church family for all the cards, phone calls, flowers, meals, visits and most of all prayers. Your support has meant everything to us. My physical therapy is going well and in a few weeks I should be much better. Gary and I are truly blessed for the love shown to us.
